tennessee (+3) over kentucky
tennessee (+140) over kentucky
==========================
i know kentucky is coming off a loss -- im sure the vols will get the cats best effort. but i still think tennessee wins this game. vols recent debacle in south carolina looks really bad, but for whatever reason- tennessee always gets blasted in south carolina. im willing to just throw that game out. vols have been night and day in home and away games anyway. vols 3 losses have all been away from home. theyve played very well in knoxville, winning every home game this year by 10+ (including DD wins over vandy and georgia). surprisingly, tennessee is solid in the fundamental areas. they rebound well and shoot it well both from the line and the field/3pt. kentucky really hasnt been all that dominant in january. theyre a damn good team, but i think this is an even game. as mcfadgon goes, so go the vols. i think he has a solid game. tennessee should win it and continue their hot play at home.

wake forest (-4.5) over georgia tech

playing this one based on a tip from someone i highly respect with some acc ties. only other play that was recommended to me this season was wake over carolina. i trust this should be another winner but we'll see.

I'm on it. Expecting an outright victory, but taking the 3, or hopefully 3.5 for good measure.

The winner of this game pulls the line. There's an old saying that holds pretty true in all of basketball. Don't play a dog getting less than 5 unless you think they will win su. I capped this game as even. The line is dead on and the numbers come up a tie everyway I cap it. However, I think Ken is and has been all year, very over-rated. Both teams were lucky to beat Van and probably the two losses were the best thing that could have happened to Van but let's get back to Tn and Ky. I give the coaching edge to Tn. If you are not familiar with Buzz Peterson, you should be. He'll hve his kids ready and he'll take advantage of Ken's weakness and it's a big one. No bench. Tubby likes to platoon and that takes at least 8 or 9 strong players. I'm not sure he has 6 and he hasn't proved to me he knows how to win with 5. Seems that's a lost art in coaching. If Ky hadn't caught NC and Van on terrible shooting days (it wasn't the d folks because the open shots were there) and got a lucky break at the buzzer at Miss St, this team would have 5 losses already this year. Not your normal Ky team.

I'm passing on this game because there's a couple I like better. It wouldn't surprise me if Tenn wins by dd. Remember, Tn beat Ga by 24 and you know what Ga did to Ky. But then, Ky might pull another rabbit out of the hat. Good luck

Tenn covered ATS but lost both games to Kentucky last year. Kentucky 6-0 SU on the road this year, 2-3 ATS with one push. All three road loses ATS were in games with spreads of (9-) or higher. Kentucky hasn't been dominating the last couple games losing straight up to Georgia by eight as a 17 point home fav, and winning at Miss St by one laying 1. Their last seven games ATS they are 1-3-3. Tenn 9-0 SU at home and 5-2 ATS. Most of their home games have been against fairly easy competition although they dominated the same Georgia team that beat Kentucky on the road. Tenn is beating their opponents at home 87-65. A knee jerk reaction here may be to take the home team and the points with those numbers and the play of Kentucky of late. However, as I said, they have been padding the numbers against easy competition.

I'm don't think I'm playing it, but would lean to Kentucky here.
