very strong rumor in Austin that Orgeron, USC D-Line coach and lead recruiter, is headed to UT to become D-Coordinator.

just read on a very exclusive UT message board that Orgeron has denied even being contacted. so who knows - he could be covering so as to not hurt USC before signing day, or it could be a BS Mack Brown rumor to justify him getting another lackey.

but when pressed Orgeron would not deny an interest in the job
(nor did he state an interest)

Thanks for the post but I already was aware of the rumor. Most USC fans are not giving this rumor much thought because we hope it is not true. Orgeron is the best DL coach in the nation and awesome recruiter. This guy is a true bad ass. VERY VERY INTENSE! I know for sure he loves coaching for Carroll and USC. He does not want to leave. However, if he leaves USC, he becomes a DC at Texas. He has NEVER been a DC so how would he do???

I know he wants to move up in coaching ranks, but if he stays at USC he will be part of a dynasty that he helped build. He was here through Hacket years :cursin:. Orgeron IMO is the 3rd best coach at USC and him leaving really would hurt but luckily USC had his services to get where they are now. It is MUCH easier to recruit now, because USC now is selecting instead of recruiting. USC has Orgeron to help thank for that.

That is a quote from Gregg Biggens, a recruiting analyst. He said USC is selecting, not recruiting. I agree with him, but if you like, i can find the link for ya. Does not mean USC gets every recruit they want (i really wanted Ginn). Maybe GINN might be the 5-star rumor decommit. I could only wish. DB is only area that may be weakness for USC. But i think that rumor went down the drain, have not heard anything more about it.

Greg Biggins is a recruiting analyst for West Coast schools.....he does all of his work on the West Coast......of course USC looks great to him.....LOL

Lets see if a NATIONAL analyst would say that USC SELECTS their team. They wouldnt.

USC recruits very well......but lets not have our nose stuck in the air....LOL

I hear a lot of the bitches are like that too out your way.....think their shit dont stink. Sounds like USC is just a stuck up school.....

USC is a stuck up school :D

USC feels they are the best team in the nation. Carroll has his players/fans believing the best offense and defense they face is in practice. Carroll has his players/fans believing USC will win if they just execute. It does not matter what the opponent does but what USC does. Carroll preaches this all the time at practice. Maybe that is why USC is not afraid to play anybody anywhere in the nation. Self confidence.

However, USC does win/play with class.

A side note, your right Greg Biggins is west coast analyst but he also works with analysts across the country. Allan Wallace, the head guy at SUPERPREP, says the same things about USC recruiting. He is NATIONAL!

If USC gets zero of the 3 WR's, then that will be a slite blow and I will not think USC is so dominant in recruiting. Still top 5 though. If USC gets 1/3 then thats huge. If USC gets 2/3 that is unbelievable. 3/3 is just sick.

Davis, Jarret, Colvin

Sad day in Trojan land, Pola, the RB coach, left to go to Browns. Great coach and recruiter. He will be missed. I ranked him the 5th most important coach at USC. Good luck Pola. You certainly did not leave the cupboard bare.

Ed Orgeron apparently has turned DOWN a major MAJOR Big 12 program for a promotion. ;) Shouldn't be too hard to figure that one out. Thought that was a real plus for USC. A bit surprising too, IMO.
