Also keep in mind at the Borgota (only Marina hotel I have experience at), nothing lower than $25 on weekends. Played poker there on Saturday and walked around every few hours up until 1am. Around 4pm they had 2 $15 tables with changes cards on them, around 730 or so, nothing under $25 at any game. Havent been to the Marina, maybe there are lower tables there. It will take a lot of work to find low(er) limit tables on weekends that arent 2 deep with people waiting. Room prices in my experience, if you are paying full price, are pretty high on weekends.
Are you coming from Ohio as your location indicates? I dont think the question is the four hour flight, the question is, how long does it take you to get to AC from Ohio and what is the *extra* time you would spend traveling? I imagine AmWest or Southwest have nonstops to Vegas and its a 5 minute cab ride to your hotel from there. How would you get from Ohio to AC and how long would that take? Would you have to rent a car (no car needed in Vegas). I'm not convinced that getting to AC would be all that much cheaper or time saving than Vegas, AC still has to be a 3 or so hour flight from Ohio, as to my knowledge there are no direct flights. So the question at that point would be, is it worth the extra hour or 90 minutes on each end? I dont know anyone here that wouldnt go the extra 90 minutes on a flight to get to Vegas.
And no offense T or any other AC-defenders, but there is no contest between the two in terms of food and shows. I have been to some great clubs, restaurant and shows in AC, so I dont want to imply there are no redeeming qualities in AC. But there just is no contest comparing the two to Vegas. Just at Bellagio alone, take her to the Art Gallery to see the Monet, Van Gogh and Renoir, the early show of Cirque's 'O' and dinner at Picasso. That was an awesome Valentines Day I did once. If food and shows are important, its not even close IMHO.
