One glass of water shuts down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University study.

Lack of water is the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.

A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or

Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.

Are you drinking the amount of water you should every day?

(No kidding, all of the above is true...)

Water definitely curbs my appetite during the day. I don't know if you need 8- 8 oz. glasses but to suggest that coffee is basically as good as water for you to consume (for hydration) is a bit slighted as well.

I sticking with the water!

never saw the snopes debunking of the 8 glasses of water, but I always knew it was bs.

Wife told me the other day that with my size I should be drinking 13 glasses of water a day (this is according to something she saw on the net). That's over 3 liters! I think drinking that much would cause a water intoxication and wash out all the sodium in my body even to a dangerous level. I think I'll stick to drinking fluids when my body tells me I'm thirsty. I'm not going to just drink a ton for no reason. I'm not too fond of going to the bathroom more than 3 or 4 times a day :D

I don't know what I'm talking about....

with that said

I've been told people get kidney stones from drinking too much pop and/or coffee. If they drank more water, they wouldn't be suffering as much. I heard kidney stones can be mo-fo's on the pain scale.

Also,
I personally seem to need to drink alot of water during sex:tongue

the better the sex=more water intake;)

possible correlation:shrug:

I won't screw with it (pun intended) and will keep drinking a lot of water. Downside is too horrible to think about. UPside is too beneficial.

intense, a very common cause of kidney stones can be related to chronic states of dehydration. I had one several years ago, and I don't want another.

Kidney stones are the closest thing for a man to experience child birth. When you pass a stone, it's like trying to squeeze a melon through your nostril. That chit hurt so bad, I literally had to sit down and piss. And I'd rather have someone hit me in the face with a hammer than passing a stone. NOT FUN!!!!!

When you get thirsty, your body has been dehydrated for a little while. It's like a delayed response. Just an fyi. I too think those guidelines are overboard...if I drank as much as suggested I'd spend 2 hours a day at the urinal.

I drink over a gallon a day - maybe more when I'm trying to lean out. Never have seen any negative sides, except for having to get up to piss multiple times during the night.

When I'm training hard my body really craves it, and if my diet is clean I really think it helps drop some body fat.

I heard this from a doctor. He told me about a person who drank too much water. Apparently, one of the patient's calves were really swollen. The doctor said everything in moderation. Even with a good thing, you can go overboard.
