The red hot Detroit Pistons were on a huge winning roll as they put together a 13 game winning streak. It didn?t matter who or where their opponents were from, be it Eastern or Western Conference, good teams or bad teams, home or away. The Pistons then had a showdown with the Pacers in Indianapolis. The game didn?t set up very well for the Pistons as they were coming off a huge home win over San Antonio 85-77. Detroit experienced a big let down and was defeated by the Pacers 81-69. This started a three game slide as the Pistons went onto lose at Minnesota 80-79 (covering as 5 point dogs) and then were upset at home by the lowly Hawks 91-82. Prior to this game in Toronto the Pistons got back to winning ways in Boston on Wednesday night winning 106-103. This appears a good time to get back on track, given that they are 6-3 SU and 7-2 ATS in their last 9 trips to Toronto. In fact, this has been a visitors series, as the road team is now 13-5 ATS in the last 18 head-to-head meetings. Over/Under players might like to know that these Pistons vs. Raptors games in Toronto are very low scoring affairs with 11 of the last 12 staying under the number. Despite their recent difficulties, Detroit is still a fine 12-7-1, 63.2% ATS on the road this year, thanks mainly to the fact that they are limiting their road opponents to a low 85.4 points per game. Infact the Pistons have allowed less than 100 points in all but one game this year. That doesn't bode well for their opponent tonight. The Toronto Raptors are 8-35-1 ATS their last 44 home games when failing to score 100 points. This presents a difficult match-up for a Raptor offense that currently consists of Vince Carter and no one else. Toronto has been a bad investment at home this season, going just 8-10-1 ATS. While they showed some improvement immediately after their big trade with the Bulls in December, they have now reverted back to their offensive mediocrity, especially at home where they have failed to reach 100 points in 7 consecutive games. These Raptors just broke a 5 game SU and ATS losing skid beating Philadelphia at home 94-84 as 7 point chalk. Prior to the 76ers game the Raptors were in Chicago and couldn?t even beat the Bulls, losing 96-89 as 3 point road favourites. This game sets up bad for the Raptors. Toronto can?t seem to get it together after playing Philli, as Toronto are an awful 5-17 ATS after playing Philadelphia. Also, the Raptors have really struggled with divisional foes north of the border this season, going 0-4 ATS in their home division games. This continues on from a trend last year, as Toronto is now 5-13 ATS at home vs. division rivals since the start of the 2002-2003 season. This is the second meeting between these two squads this season. The first was just over a month ago when the Pistons held on to defeat the Raptors in Detroit 95-91. The Raptors left Detroit with the cash as 7 point dogs. However, it shouldn?t be as close this time. Toronto is terrible playing with same season revenge as they are 7-19 ATS and are just 2-9 ATS at home their last 11 games with same season revenge. Toronto hasn?t been able to defeat Detroit at home and I look for same result tonight.
