Last nite went 0-3 in the MAAC.Pretty bad job.Peter loses,Siena losses and Loy Md breaks its 30 game streak vs my Poukeepsie boys.
did win Tulsa,La-laf and Loy-Chi but lost also Fullerton and Mid Tenn
Overall 3-5 but Peter and Marist were big plays.Very bad, sorry.Need to rebound tonite.

Iona -7.5 over Canisius
Could be let down game after Iona drubbing Manhattan.I watched the entire game.Iona had 13 blocked shots.Jenkins was on fire.Bruin the frosh taken over Smiths job looked better then his father{Red-of the cuse] Inside scring, rebounding, etc
Iona gds like I have been saying for 2 yrs are fast and explosive.Burtt and mcCullough are tough.Deshawn got his act together I think after being benched and is trying to be a team player. But he still hoists up shots from 35 ft out.
He has so much talent yet so out of control.Wasch came off the bench and looked good. They shut down Manhattan with defense and out running the jaspers.I think at one pt Iona had 14 fast break pts to MC 0.
Griffs come in at the bottom of the MAAC almost tied with Loy-Md.They just beat Loy Md by 2 last week.Downey is ther only player that can score with any consistency.Foster has not found his shot from 2 yrs ago.Doss tonite will be eaten up by the gaels gds.Jones is ok and freshman Wilson is playing a lot more.
Ferris and Spruill there 2 big men are questionable again.Other then shooting the 3 better then Iona at 36% to 32 %,the Gaels are up on the Griffs in scroing ,rebounding,FG%,etc
And the griffs are one of the worst FT shooting teams in the country at 60%.
Iona is much quicker at the gds and inside game. They are 6-0 ats in the last 6 games.Have won in New Rochelle the past 3 or 4 yrs by 10,10,10 and 9.
Iona is a dangerous team and has the abilty to blow any MAAC team away esp at home. They are poorly coached and out of control. But the Jesuits are not happy with Ruland.Rumors of discontent have spread even by the TV announcers last week.
I see the Gaels using their speed and playing with the intensity like they did last Sunday vs MC.
Griffs could be in big trouble.
This should be a double digit win.

Manhattan -8.5 over Niagara
I'll give the pts here.Niagara is also the 2nd most talented team in the conf.Cannot believe they didn't beat the jaspers at home.draddy is not a great home court for MC but after there big loss 77-62 to iona it will be intresting to see how they respond.Flores was kept in check. But the Purple can't play defense. If you put the Purples top 7 players vs the Jaspers top7 in an one on one game Purple win 6-1.Flores would win and thats it. Mendez,Darden,Reaves[pl of week] Cruz, etc would kill them. But MC plays team defense. Small play here because I know Niagara could win outright if they just stopped someone on the other end of the court.

Cornell -4.5 over Harvard
Big red gds Barnes and Toppert will have a field day tonite.Ka'Ron is a stud in this league.Taylor,Collins and Stephson are all avg 11,8 and 7.Harvard can't shoot, or play defense.
Sacred Heart just beat them 91-69.Colgate beat them by 18,maine by 10,Lehigh by 9.They can't win at home vs some of these teams.now ka'ron comes to town. Say good nite. Big Red win by 10.

Iona *******
Cornell ****

"...Quo fas et gloria ducunt..."
hey boxy, this was a preview last nite from the sports network BEFORE the Mrist game:

This is a team that the Greyhounds can end their streak against, as Marist is not dominating offensively and can have lapses on defense. The Red Foxes have to control the boards and take advantage of their trips to the foul line or else they will go down in NCAA history as the team that let one of the worst squads in recent memory end its monumental run of futility.
Predicted Outcome: Marist 67, Loyola-Maryland 64

LOL!!!

Loyola-Maryland WINS!!! Loyola-Maryland WINS!!!!

break up the greyhounds!!!!

TV,this was in our paper this morning

Marist College coach Dave Magarity said he felt "God awful" about Loyola College's 31-game losing streak.
He isn't feeling much better now that the woeful Greyhounds snapped the third-longest Division I skid in history with a 63-57 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference victory over his Red Foxes last night at Reitz Arena. Marist had won the previous 10 meetings.
"I am still shell-shocked,'' Magarity said. "My stomach was in knots and I had all kinds of mixed emotions about this game.''
Marist (5-13, 3-6), losers of four in a row, shot 34 percent from the floor. Brandon Ellerbee missed all 10 of his attempts. Will McClurkin had 15 points and nine rebounds. Loyola (1-18, 1-9) gained its first victory since beating Rider 74-69 in overtime on Jan. 19, 2003. When the game ended, hundreds of Loyola fans rushed the court to celebrate. Charlie Bell scored 20 of his 25 points in the second half for the Greyhounds.
"It's a tough loss, I am not going to kid you,'' Magarity said, "but I won't put it up there with the worst loss in my career ? every playoff loss is worse than this.''
It is Marist's ninth loss by six points or less.
"Tonight was just fate,'' Magarity said. "We ran into a team that was incredibly desperate.''

I like Dave line about playoff losses. But i got my butt handed to me by the greyhounds win.
