I am not in any way calling anybody ignorant. I want to completely separate myself from Scott's comments toward anybody personally. I may share his opinion (& thats all it really is!) on conf strength, I dont want to be included with the rest of his classless remarks.

Sorry i wrote we, as you and I are not together against them or anybody. However, calling them ignorant is not classless. That is exactly what they are. IGNORANT. Look up the definition and then look at their replies/posts after you and I have posted facts supporting our opinion. I am sorry, but they are classic examples of what ignorant people are. If they are not, please show me?

Show me one post of theres that supports their opinion. ONE POST!!!! I repeatedly see them post again and again their silly opinions and their so called data. How many NC Pac 10 has? How many pre-season pac 10 teams are ranked? Look at how many final top 25 teams are from the SEC. Same old stuff but completely ignoring reality.

I really wish you mansa_musa would share the same opinion as them so then you and I can have an intellectual debate and maybe I can even learn something or change my opinion on the strength of the SEC. None of these guys can bring a good argument so I just enjoy playing with their heads and hopefully one day they wake up and see reality.

If you think my post was classless, what is your opinion of all of them? Calling me names, personal attacks, ridiculous polls, middle fingers, and so on. I have tried not to come down to their level
and I am proud of that. I do enjoy reading their ridiculous replies and laughing at them. However, I do wish they would provide a better debate and support their opinions.

Most people wish you would just go away Scott & that is as much of a fact as the Pac 10 having won hardly a thing in the last two decades.

People remember titles & teams that won them. You would be hard pressed to find alot of fans who recall the huge success of the Pac 10 the last two decades because it really didn't have much of it on a national level.

Your opinion is just about worthless since it is biased, always has been & always will be. I mean you talk about posting support for your thoughts yet you are the same one who was doing pathetic cut & paste jobs of other people's work.

Get a freaking life already.

No my opinion is not worthless because behind every opinion of mine is support. I often back up my opinion with hard core facts that cannot be disputed. If you think my opinion is worthless, why not tell me why it is instead of merely saying it. Tell me how the facts presented supporting my opinion do not support my statement. Tell me why that does not change your mind. This is called debating. Do you know how to debate?

This is not just written towards you but to "most" people in this forum.

I even admit I am biased towards USC and prob. the strength of the pac 10. Nothing wrong with that, and there is nothing wrong with you or others who are biased to the south or east coast or whatever. I have no problem at all with anybody and their opinions. I do have a problem when people are ignorant.

I mean you talk about posting support for your thoughts yet you are the same one who was doing pathetic cut & paste jobs of other people's work.

I said before hand that some of my posts were from other Trojans and that I do not spend so much time writing my posts. There is nothing wrong with cutting and pasting someone elses opinion especially if it is well written (which is why I did it). 30% of my posts were prob. cut and paste. I gave credit on few, especially the MYTH OF SEC because that was so well written and researched no way did I want to steal credit for it. It was so well written.

I wrote...
"Also, i did not write this but another fellow trojan did to prove the SEC is not the best conference. And he certainly did."

Now in every debate (which i usually am in) there is no way I could have cut and pasted that unless i was having the exact same debate on the USC message board. BUt even if I did somehow cut and paste every single post of mine, does that make a difference? What does that change? Remember, this is just a message board and what is important is what is inside the posts. Which brings us back to the orginal argument, why can't anybody who feels the SEC is stronger have strong support for it? I find it very funny. There is absolutely very little quality support for any of your (not just you) statements. In addition, none of you have answers to the facts I have presented or mansa_musa. NO ANSWERS AT ALL. You guys sure as hell love to act immature and bash, make polls, flip fingers, make personal attacks, etc... BBK is the most immature person in this forum and is a great example of this. Read his posts and see his maturity level.

I have noticed that many of you do not try and use the message board to educate yourselves or have an intellectual debate. If you cannot debate (or don't like too) or have no support, that is fine but many of you love to bash and make personal attacks and give personal advice when you have been out debated. Why? There is no need for that. Am I an angel? NO, but I "try" not too lower myself to that level and neither should you.

This post is a classic example of what I just wrote about. What value did this post add to this thread? What is the meaning of this post? What support did this poster provide to back up his statement? What do we get out of this post?

Thanks for writing this post Kdogg21, it is a very good example of what I am talking about (but without any personal attacks, but you have done your share).

nobody wants to post anymore because nobody really cares....about 75% of the people in here think the SEC is a better conference, and no matter what you say can change there mind....its called opinions dumbass. you have your stupid myth of the SEC which we should all read and worship, but its your opinion, nobody gives a flying f*ck. its cool that you wrote all that crap in there, and there is some interesting stats, but it sure hasn't changed my mind nor anybody elses. nobody likes you cause you are the typical dorky kid who thinks he knows all and whatever he believes in is right. its great you have such support for your team, but the world doesn't revolve around it...everybody loves putting their 2 cents in here, and thats great, thats what this forum is for, but no matter what anybody says, you come back with some stupid remarks or myths you say is correct. maybe if you started giving people some respect, you would get some.

and listen to this guys, my brother was reading over this and laughing his ass off, and he said Pete Carroll was on ESPN radio the other day, and he was talking about Strength of Schedule. He even admited that the SEC was a tougher conference to play in than the Pac-10, because of its physical style. So go put that in your pipe and smoke it scott, your boyfriend admits it as well....

No that is called ignorance. PLEASE LOOK THAT WORD UP! Wait, you actually just defined it.

its cool that you wrote all that crap in there, and there is some interesting stats, but it sure hasn't changed my mind nor anybody elses.
Why? That is called debating.

no matter what anybody says, you come back with some stupid remarks or myths you say is correct.
If you actually did read what I wrote, it was mostly facts. Maybe 90% of that write-up was FACTS. Read it again and you will see.

Explain to me why the SEC has done so poorly against the Pac 10?

Explain to me why the SEC has done so poorly against BCS competition?

Explain to me why the SEC OOC scheduling is pathetic? (you will say the conference is so tough, but then does 4 automatic wins help give your teams high rankings and explain the first 2 questions if the conference is so tough)

Now i never said the SEC sucked or is bad conference. I respect it a lot and enjoy watching the teams play. I love how enthusiastic the fans are. Its great football environment (best in nation). However, that does not mean the SEC is the best conference or better than the Pac 10. My numbers (facts) support my claim. It almost leaves you no choice but to agree. If you do not agree, then explain why. Numbers do not lie.

my brother was reading over this and laughing his ass off, and he said Pete Carroll was on ESPN radio the other day, and he was talking about Strength of Schedule. He even admited that the SEC was a tougher conference to play in than the Pac-10, because of its physical style.

Carroll was not on ESPN radio that i am aware of in the last few days because it would have been on the USC message board. If he somehow was, thats fine he thinks that. 75% of you do on here and Carroll has not read my write-ups yet! ;) It is VERY easy to think the SEC is such a tough conference because so many teams are ranked in the top 25. What people fail to realize is why there are. Also nobody knows how poorly the SEC has done against BCS compeition. You all do because of me!!!

You also are the same poster who said USC dodged LSU which i knew was not true and your source was an anonymous e-mail written in a newspaper.

Oh come on Scott, you are being made to look like a fool. The man who you worship (possibly) said the same thing most people have in this debate & that is the SEC is a stronger conference. This is a man who knows more about football & what a stronger conference would be then you would know. Why am I not surprised you are trying to spin this latest comment though.

i agree hockey....im done bickering with homo boy here. if USC went 0-12, he would still say they are the greatest 0-12 team ever. i could go into more detail about this, but why waste my time and energy....i got money to lose on the superbowl. so scott you can gloat how great you are and nobody can match wits with you, if thats what makes you feel better, thats fine and dandy with me. but all in all, your the one that looks like the biggest loser out of all of this, and if you don't agree, go look at the poll in this forum. you want stats, well here's a stat ...14 out of 18 people in madjacks think you are a GayLoser. Put that in your boyfriends buttplug and smoke it

Scott: If the Sec is so inferior to the PAC 10 then how do all of those computers have USC behind LSU and OKlahoma? Those computers dont have a such thing as a preseason poll (like the AP) they take into account many factors. Strength of schedule being one of them. The strength of schedule component usually doesnt just go by wins and losses of your opponants, it usually goes by that plus the wins and losses of their opponants and then wins and lossess of THEIR opponants.....it is a quite complex equation. It will more than likely tell the tale of who played the tougher schedule.......with that being said, how did USC get left out of the game this year????

And how did the SEC do in their bowl games this year, by the way?

Great question, but if you read my 2 threads comparing pac 10 vs SEC and MYTH OF SEC, you would have your answer. I will give you very brief answer to your question. As a whole, SEC plays horrible OOC schedule, pretty much every teams gets at least 3-4 automatic wins for OOC play. Take a look at the OOC schedule of the PAC 10. SOS penalizes you more for losing to a great team than beating a crap team. Think about it.

Why did USC get shut out? Well WSU was going to finish in the top 10 BCS and give USC QW pts but the starting QB for WSU did not play against UW (maybe just little bit he played), and WSU lost on last minute game winning UW TD drive. ND lost to Syracuse at end of year, Hawaii lost to Boise St. at end of year, UCLA lost to OSU prior to USC, and OSU lost to Oregon prior to playing USC. AU did not hve the kind of year they normally do and ND as well. BYU usually is solid but had multiple injuries and i think 2 QB's even got hurt. WSU lost to ND 1st game of year @ND after blowing a double digit lead. SEC teams were busy playing div. 2 schools. Get it????? USC had the worst luck for SOS, and USC still had a top 30 rank in SOS. Not bad. LSU beat USC in BCS by only .15, that was it. So just one of these things going USC way prob. would have pushed USC ahead of LSU. WSU def. would have pushed USC ahead of LSU. USC got shut out of BCS CHAMPIONSHIP GAME because they had worst luck with SOS and USC lost to CAL @CAL in triple OT by 3pts. Oh well, USC is estatic to win the AP NC Trophy in what was suppose to be a rebuilding year.

Kdogg21

Thats shows your immaturity level. Grow up. By the way, in that ridiculous poll that proves nothing, you cannot say 14 people said I am gayloser because me being a loser and me being gay was not one of the options on the poll. It is one or the other, not both. Lastly, look at the people who would participate and vote me gay or loser. That is all I have to say about that.

Mr. Hockey
you are being made to look like a fool. The man who you worship (possibly) said the same thing most people have in this debate & that is the SEC is a stronger conference.
I am??? Kdogg21 posted that, and he is the same person who thought an anonymous e-mail written in a newspaper is a solid source. So I would not be so confident to believe the Carroll was on the ESPN radio and said those exact statements. I sure as hell do not believe him. If Carroll was on the ESPN radio, it would have been on the USC message boards, guaranteed. Even if it somehow slipped every trojan, and he did say those comments, WHO CARES? Does not prove anything. Geesh.

It happens when you have 3 bowl games against Big 12 teams. Half of the Big 12 allowed over 30 ppg v BCS competition! Last year, the Big 12 was vastly overrated. Look at who Ok St, Missouri, Texas & Kansas beat to get bowl bids. Those teams proved on the field that they didnt belong in the bowl games that they played in.

If the Sec is so inferior to the PAC 10 then how do all of those computers have USC behind LSU and OKlahoma?

Well, because humans, with all their biases & opinions program those computers. 6 of the 7 computer indexes that go into the BCS formula, dont take home/road games into account. That means that SC's opening game shutout win @ Auburn was weighted the same as LSU's midseason home win v Auburn. When SC played @ ND, the computers weighed that the same as LSU's home game v LA Tech. The computers also dont factor in injuries. LSU played Georgia w/o 2 or 3 starting OL & a few defensive starters out. Georgia was not a top team w/o those players & the computers gave more weight to that game than SC playing on the road v a healthy Cal team. As handicappers, we should know that injuries & where the games are played are critical ingredients to picking winners.

And, tell me what you think of a computer system that ranks a team better than every other team in the nation after they get beat 35-7 in a conf title game??? If SC or LSU had lost that same weekend they would have dropped at least 3-5 spots.

Great post, Mansa. You are exactly right. HUMANS program the computers, but the criteria are something that MANY humans have agreed upon. The criteria are well documented. It seems like the Pac 10 hasn't quite figured out what it takes to get a BCS score that is good enough to qualify for the NC game. Other conferences have figured this out.

Whether the SEC plays div 2 schools to trick the computers or not, they obviously know the correct formula to earn themselves a legit spot in the NC game. What is it with the PAC 10, and why can't they figure out the formula? THAT is (to borrow a term from our boy Scott) "Ignorance". This "debate" will never get us anywhere. So, you boys keep telling yourselves the SEC is weak, and we'll keep enjoying our great football and NC trophys. Works for me...

WRONG, that is not the def. of ignorance.

So, you boys keep telling yourselves the SEC is weak, and we'll keep enjoying our great football and NC trophys. Works for me..

That is fine by me. No problem with that at all. Just do not say how dominant the SEC is. Simple as that.

why can't they figure out the formula?

You guys enjoy beating up on bad teams. Div. 2 schools and bad Div 1 programs. Pac 10 fans generally do not and have higher standards. I would rather go 3-1 against tough OOC competition than 4-0 against cupcakes. Why? I simply would not want my team playing cupcakes. I want to see my team play and try and beat good teams. Earn everything you get.

you are hopefull scott hopeless; i actually voted in the poll you were gay and not a loser and i am going to have to switch that to a hopeless homer loser. Bush is above average at best and will NEVER play in the NFL. Mark it down. And i am sure most coaches would take a rb on a lb at day long :moon:

Get real. I should save this quote and post it to you during the season when Bush is talked about as one of the best football players in the nation. But your not worth my time, and I am tired of rubbing it in your nose. Your too easy and set yourself up for failure every time. Forget about it.
