Snow,snow,snow.Damn...It doesn't end.No school again. We have surpassed our snow days so now Easter vacation is effected.
Of course my daughter in Austin calls and tells us its 66 degrees.
I'm tired of shoveling,driving in snow,windows frozen over,sleet,etc,etc.
I can retire in 2006 but will have 2 still in college and another one will be a senior in HS.Damn.
Family planning wasn't on our agenda back then.Thank god the oldest one is teaching and on her own in Texas.

"Stormy Nite in Pitt" was my post a few nites ago.It should of been 'Stormy Nite at Club Erotica".
Unreal that this could happen.Six players sneak out of the Westin Hotel and take a cab to "Club Erotica".I guess after getting "spanked by Panthers" the Johnnies need to do some spanking themselves.
After some lap dancing, etc they convince some girl to come back to the hotel. They agree on $600 bucks for sex.Thats 100 each. After Grady,Ingram and Keita get theirs they offer her $6.00.She protests and accuses them of rape.Ingram tapes this all on his phone viedo.Woman calls police, etc.False accusations as she tries to extort them. She's arrested the police watch the tape and allow the players to leave Pitt the next monring.
Coaches were unaware that 6 players snuck out of the hotel.
Grady who attacked a girl last yr was kicked off the team.Ingram and Kieta who had sex are suspended and could be expelled by today.Hamilton,Jones and Diakete are suspended pending....
Lyr when Jarvis didn't suspened Grady after the pushing incident I lost total respect for him. Many protested but Jarvis basically said"he did nothing".
Charges were dropped later but he did community service and goes to "anger management classes".
But Jarvis should of sat his ass out a game or two_Or maybe just throw his ass out for good.
Getting rid of Jarvis in the middle of the season is the adminstrations fault.Unless there was an incident like something at a "salad bar" then let him finish the season.Replacing him with Clark was dumb.So Johnnies adminstrators must share some of this blame.
Anyway its sad to see a program that many of us here in the east were proud of fall down so low.Lapchick,Sweet Lou,etc
made the Johnnies such a respected program.Guys like Franchilla,Jarvis and now Clark have ruined it.
Rumors of who will resurect the Johnnie tradtion are many.
Hopefully they pick Baron at URI or McKillop from Davidson. Both come from the NY HS ranks and knows everyone. And both can coach the X and O's.

Will be back tonite for the Rider-St peter game
My wife is calling me now. "Hon,can you get off your ass on that computer and shovel our driveway, clean the 3 cars and do the sidewalk.."..... "Yes dear,as soon as I wake up my two sleeping kids to help me"....

And I was wondering...Ingram broke his nose and had to play the other nite with that mask that looks like it came from the play"Phanthom".
Do you guys think he had it on at "Club Erotica".
Maybe his viedo tape will get out a la paris hilton...

Was wondering if St John's sat on this how it would effect the line for Sunday vs BC, but it looks like they have taken action. Amazing
how far this team has fallen.

PITTSBURGH -- St. John's expelled one basketball player and permanently suspended two others Thursday night, hours after a woman was arrested for allegedly lying to police about being raped by several players the night before.

After the woman was charged, St. John's said it had expelled senior Grady Reynolds, who was arrested before last season on charges he pushed a female student against a wall.

University athletics spokesman Dominic Scianna said the school also permanently suspended leading scorer Elijah Ingram, a sophomore, and senior Abraham Keita, pending expulsion hearings.

Two other players, freshman Lamont Hamilton and senior Mohammed Diakite, were also suspended, and another player, freshman Tyler Jones, would be disciplined, the school said. The players were not immediately available for comment.

St. John's officials did not describe how the players violated team rules.

Sherri Ann Urbanek-Bach, 38, of Astoria, N.Y., was charged Thursday night with fictitious reports, attempted extortion and prostitution, hours after she claimed she was raped in a hotel by players she met in a strip club following the Red Storm's 71-51 loss to Pittsburgh on Wednesday night, Pittsburgh police said.

A telephone listing under Urbanek-Bach's name in New York was disconnected and she could not immediately be reached for comment.

According to police, several players went to a club after the game Wednesday night. The woman told police she met the players around 2:30 a.m. Thursday, then went with them to a hotel in downtown Pittsburgh, where she told police she was raped.

Police did not identify the players accused but said they were interviewed and released.

St. John's is 5-14. Interim coach Kevin Clark replaced Mike Jarvis on Dec. 19.

St. John's next plays Boston College at home Sunday afternoon.

It is very sad, I can not believe how bad things have gotten for this program. My father is an alum and I grew up going to all the games and even stormed the court last year when they won the NIT. Maybe they can convince Lou to come out of retirement and coach again, hell, he is at every game. Well, at this point, I dont think it could get any worse after this latest incident, could it?

Hey Box, curious as to how you got all that information about the this current situation?

Grizape, most of it is public I think. My former Superintendent and a good friend of mine e-mails me all the time.He is now a Supe in Long Island at one of the biggest schools there making double of what I make. I was offererd the AD and b-ball position at his school but I love the Hudson Valley.
But he bleeds Red.Played baseball at St Johns.Drafted by the pros, etc. He goes to all their games.Knows the AD,and many people there. His 2 kids go there now.Carneseeca was his freshman baseball coach.
He e-mails me everyday and I break his "calzones".Of course he kills me with North Texas jabs.
I do get stuff not put in the papers.Esp last yr in the Grady incident when he pushed the swimmer and chocked her.
Griz..it has to be embarrasing for Johnnie alum.I'm ashamed and I don't have any ties to StJ.
Blackman..I didn't even think of the capping aspect of this.It will probaly be taken off the bd,right?

PS..I shoveled the back steps, front steps so far.
It's a bad snow. For all you that don't get snow you don't know what I'm talking about.
This snow is..last nite power snow, then ice and sleet. Then snow and now its sleeting like crazy.
So the 4 inches down weighs 10 times more then 10 inches of powdered snow.it's heavy snow.....
Like Peter tonite if it doesn't get....SNOWED OUT

St Peters +4 over Rider
Rider is playing tough.Have won 4 of last 5 and the loss was to UMass who's hot.
Johnson vs Clark tonite. That the showdown.Johnson named MAAC PL of week again.
Rider is playing in its cozy little gym tonite and thats a tough place for opposing teams.Castleburry has been tough avg 12-8 bds.Rider has some depth with Muniz,Taylor,Young,Johnson.Periera is the kid I saw at Delhi juco who I really thought would be an impact player but comes off the bench. But Rider is only 4-4 ats at home despite being 6-2 overall.
Peter could come into tonites game thinking of Manhattan. And if that happens Peter could go down tonite.
Clark is 2nd in the nation in scoring.Nichols needs to hit from the 2 spot tonite. They beat siena the other nite but played real poorly.Siena played worse.
Peter has improved with their interior game.Sowers and Yates have stepped up big time.Ali and Bozic will play the 7'0 Castleburry.
Peter is quicker but not as good a defensive team.Peter did upset Rider lyr in the MAAC tourney sending them home in OT.
But Rider has dominated this series. But st Peter this yr has beaten those teams that have dominated them the past 5 or 7 yrs.Leckie's theme is "payback" for kicking our ass's all those yrs.
I have the game at Rider -1 or 2.So getting +4 for a team that could beat them outright is a gift.
I am scared of the Peacocks looking ahead and thinking of their big game vs Manhattan.
Playing in the Bronk Zoo will be tough. But when opposing teams have great gds esp someone like Clark the home court loses a small edge.Clarks dribbling and nailing 3's quiets everyone.
The game is televised on MSG so both Johnson and Clark will like to shine.I think Clark glows just a little brighter....

St Peter +4 ****

Nice call on St. Peter's Box!

It should never have gone to overtime. When will these players/coaches learn time/score clock management? It amazes me when I see a team that really doesn't need to score, forces the action while on offense with an 11 point lead. You see it over and over.

Best of Luck,
Groz

Groz, your right about the OT.Peter is up 11 with 2 minuts left and they go OT.They run that spread offense and then Yates and others over dribble and turn the ball over.Over dribbling vs trapping defenses.
But won in the end.Nichols did some job on Johnson tonite.Big game on Sunday in Jersey City.

Capping Tiger...I'll think of you in July when you have that humidty and I need a lite blanket to go to sleep by because of the breeze..

K-dog..I think we have the same weather...hate it

Bo-hawk..I love padre island. My wifes best friend own a home in North Padre near Aransas Pass.We didn't go last yr but the past 3 yrs.Never been to South padre though.I'd love to retire down there.I love Corpus,Austin, and Denton.

Bear and 3 seconds...my wife and I actually looked at snow blowers at Lowes and Home Depot .Maybe the time has come.I'm so sore tonite.Plus I have to the sidewalk that the village really owns..and thats about 40 yds.I live on a 4 way stop. The village snow plow covers up the drain so all the melted snow becomes a huge lake in front of my house and driveway.I have to make a ditch and then push the 4" water down my man made irrigation ditch.
bohawk..you got problems like that in South padre...ha
Later guys.
St Peter was a nice win tonite..Hopefully will get a couple tomr..thanks

A blower is the best investment you could make...especially with the village plow coming by and plowing in the corner. See if you have a neighbor or two who'd want to go in on it with you. I finally did that this year, and we both got a nice 8.5 HP model for half the price! Good luck, and thanks for all the plays!
