Now here is a real crock of chit. A panel to investigate WMD and our poor intelligence cathering. Bush wants to name those on the panel and be deeply involved. Or even be the head of this investagtion. That tells me just about all I need to know about want they dont want out in the open. My guess is they will find no info to after the election. I believe thats a Lock.
This would have been like letting Clinton investgate himself.

no we need a unbiased guy like you in cahrage who never jumps to conclusions and doesn't confuse facts with speculation

as a sidenote, from what all the democrats including Clinton said, i don't know how anyone could blame Bush for suggesting that we were almost sure WMD's were in Iraq....seems nothign inconsistent with what was said across the board

but that is besides the point IMO, Saddam had to go and we should have finished his ass off 12 years ago or however long ago it was; and finally the clock ran out and we had enough of his shXX

he was not complying with his post war treaty and therefore we had every right to go in there and enforce it...

the guy is gone....that is a good thing....we are fighting terrorists right now in Iraq instead of at home....that is a good thing.....

The intelligence community has shown for years now that they are in need of a serious upgrade...that should be no surprise to anyone as they have been underfunded for years now and it was in shambles pre - 9/11

now all of a sudden they were purely functional but Bush & co. somehow twisted the reports when Clinton and all the dem's were saying the same things?

no Clinton was given pathetic information as well....dude bombed a pill factory for crying out loud.....does he deserve the blame for that?

uh....no

I have a hard time understanding lawyers, Ed. Just like I have a hard time understanding my wife sometimes. Things I say seem to get twisted a lot.....:nono:

I don't understand, Bush listens to Clinton when it comes to WMD but when it comes to tax breaks and surpluses and deficits he ignores him!

no Bush didn't listen to Clinton....he listened to the intelligence that Clinton listened to....and the same intelligence that everyone listened to and if you listened to what everyone was saying 2-3 years ago, you will find that nothign BUsh said was any different than your left wing friends...

but as i said before, that is beside the point...we had plenty of other reasons to go get rid of Hussein's ass all of which legitimized the mission independently...

i don't know how that has anything to do with tax cuts....but keep those coming please....we are already plundered enough

Point is. A independent head up by Bush is just BS. I guess he's a scared of a real panel. And for dam sure wont let any info out before the election. So the American people just have to deside if he's a liar like many of the Prez before him.

ok then make that decision....he said the same things about WMD as many dem's in Congress and also as Clinton...

if Bush was lying about it, then so was everyone else.....very unlikely

Doc it's not that they all didn't lie. Maybe they all have. But it is more about the info being tweaked to put us at war. All of a sudden after so many years Iraq had to be dealt with. There threat to us never changed. We can end up with a bigger problem and lose more face if we dont let them have there free elections as promised. To bad if the guy we dont want to win does. Thats the chance you have to take once one has open there big mouth.
If were that stupid. Iraq could be a bigger problem then it ever was. And then all those nations that say hey the U S keeps it word. They will be saying just the oppsite. And now 522 lifes an counting will have been lost for nothing.

I heard today the investigation will not be concluded until 2005.

My, how convenient is that for George W.

What I think is the invvestigation should be of is the congress for raping the US intellegence agencies over the last 20 years (at least, thank you Frank Church). Those holier than thou bastards should have their feet to the fire.

Take care

djv, you always rush to conclusions and accusations, but you always seem to be a little slow on correcting your mis-information and baseless accusations.

It seems to me that Pres. Bush went out of his way to appoint a fair and Bi-partisan panel, but you can ignore that cause that little fact makes you look like you jumped to conclusions, heaven forbid...:tongue :nono:

Blitz not at all. He is one appointing them. So it's his panel. And he said they can report back to HIM March 2005. That would be 4 months after the election. And that would not be to congress.
And he was dead against this just two weeks ago. And he said so. But I do believe the poll numbers wispered in his ears changed his mind. Something sure as hell did because he said no to this several times.
