WHAT THE BEST THING TO BET ON ALL STAR WEEKEND IS.

PEJA OR BILLUPS IN THREE PT CONTEST....I FEEL ONE OF THESE WILL WIN IT, BOTH ARE SHOOTING OVER 40 PERCENT AND THE REST ARE ALL UNDER....PLUS THESE GUYS ALWAYS KNOCK DOWN BIG SHOTS. 5-1 FOR CHUNCY DEF. WORTH A SHOT AND HAMMER PEJA????

THE GAME EAST OR WEST EAST HAS NEVER LOST THREE IN A ROW EVER IN THE HISTORY OF THE ALL STAR GAME I AM THINKING HISTORY REPEATS, WEST JUST SEEMS DISTRACTED THIS YR....KOBIE SHAQ STEVIE FRANCHISE AND TIMMY CAN'T MAKE A FT TO SAVE HIS LIFE.

JUST MY THOUGHTS WOULD LOVE TO HEAR YOURS

The game will be in LA this year. Therefore, the spotlight is on Shaq and Kobe. One of them will be All-Star MVP -- it's just how the NBA works...

The West will win the game, dominating inside with Shaq,
Duncan, and Garnett. The line will be inflated no doubt and I would never recommend betting on an All-Star game. However, I think with the talent disparity, the West will win easily.

As for the 3-pt shootout, Peja will be the big favorite and likely win it. However, I imagine the odds will be fairly steep and thus lacking any real value.

WELL THE LINE FOR THE GAME IS +6.5 FOR THE EAST
AND THE THREE PT CONTEST IS 5-1 FOR CHUNCY AND 5-8 FOR PEJA.

JUST BECAUSE ITS IN LA DON'T MEAN THEY WILL SHINE.....WILL THEY EVEN PLAY???

HOW CAN YOU SAY THE TALENT IS ALL IN THE WEST....THIS GAME SHOWCASES SCORING AND THE STARTING FIVE FOR THE EAST OUTSCORE THE WEST OVERALL IN PPG BESIDES BEN WALLACE. YES THE WEST HAS BIGGER GUYS INSIDE AND THATS GREAT FOR DEFENSE, BUT THE EAST HAS SHOOTERS AND SCORING AND THAT IS WHAT THIS GAME IS ALL ABOUT....I DON'T SEE ANY DEFENSE THEREFOR I STILL LIKE THE EAST.

AND EVERYONE WILL PROB BANK PEJA FOR AN EASY WIN BUT THAT MAY BE WHAT THE BOOKS WANT YOU TO DO????

Individual scoring averages for starters are meaningless here. Iverson, Carter, and McGrady have very little scoring help on their respective teams. Thus, they take a lot of shots leading to a higher scoring average. For the West, Ming is starting only because he was voted for by the fans. Shaq will get more playing time due to the game being in LA. Garnett's scoring average would be higher if he didn't get help from Sprewell and Cassell. Kobe's would normally be higher, but this season (when all are healthy), the Lakers have more scoring options.

Individual scoring average is one of the most misleading stats in the NBA. Often, the leader is someone who just happens to take the most shots (Iverson for example). I would pay no attention to it.

As for the talent disparity between the two leagues, take a look at inter-conference records. It's quite lopsided.

true the east has bad record vs west overall BUT look at the teams the starters are on indy det nets all have winning or even records with the west except nj in the midwest but they are coming on strong now.

i am not here to say that the east is the play but just to say that if you look closely i think you can find an angle in playing them.
