not just Nelson...
One of the only players capable of matching up with Araujo is Colorado State's
All-Conference center Matt Nelson, but he has been slowed by injury lately and
his status for tonight's tilt is uncertain. Nelson currently leads his team
with 14.8 ppg, and he will be sorely missed if unavailable. The only other
double-digit performer for the squad is Matt Williams at 11.0 ppg, but he has
had to fight through some of his own injury problems. Williams leads the team
on the glass with 6.2 rpg, and Nelson is grabbing 5.6 rpg. The Rams are
netting 70.5 ppg on average, hitting 46 percent from the floor in the process,
but they are surrendering 71.8 ppg despite holding opponents to 42.3 percent
overall shooting efficiency. CSU enabled Utah to connect on 50 percent of its
field goal attempts on Saturday, including an 8-of-15 effort from three-point
range. Meanwhile, the Rams managed to hit only 39 percent of their total
shots, including a 3-of-13 effort from behind the arc. Dwight Boatner scored a
team-high 16 points in defeat, and Michael Morris pitched in with 15 points
and six assists. Ronnie Clark netted 11 points in the tilt, and Williams
pulled down 11 boards.
