Just clicked on to Olympic to check the odds on different teams winning the whole banana for the NCAA tournament.

It seems to me that there is incredible value in the "Field" bet. At +1200, the Field includes both Mississippi St. AND Oklahoma St., who aren't listed as individual teams. Currently, they are 2 of the Top 7 teams in the nation! Too, (and though I don't anticipate these teams winning) you also get South Carolina and Utah St among others...

Considering UConn at +600, Pitt at +800, and Duke at +400..... getting BOTH Ok St and Miss St (plus any protection from a REAL Cinderella winning at all) seems like a tremendous value.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance...

Pretty odd that either of those teams aren't listed. Their stock has increased significantly over the past 2 weeks or so, atleast at my book (carib).

Then again, that may be the reason why the "Field" play is only at +1200. Mine is at +5000. Perhaps they're anticipating an early exit for these 2 teams.

Monk - love the signature.

Decent price to get them both at +1200, but I'm not too sure I see either of them winning the whole thing - but what the hell do I know, I never would have thought Syracuse would have ran the gammet last year.

Howie - Okla St at 100-1 and Miss St at 75-1 are tremendous values now that they are top ten teams.....and since those prices were available at one point, getting them both at 12-1 doesn't hold all that much value now if you compare it to what you got them at. Sure you get protection against a real long shot - but if you want that you can still get it at 50-1 anyway.

I tend to agree....I'm not sure either wins the whole thing, but as you mentioned Blackman, I didn't see Syracuse last year either. I guess I am looking at this from another angle too. If EITHER team is forunate enough to even get to the Final, it creates a nice opportunity for a hedge play. And depending on the opponent, it's not inconceivable that you could potenitally win both sides of the hedge.

To me, there isn't a truly, truly, dominant team out there. I know about the undefated teams.....but I think this year smells of another one of those 'non-traditional' teams winning at all. I think it's worth taking a good look at!

Monk---I thought it was odd too that neither of those teams were listed. I was looking more for curiosity sake, and it just jumped off the page at me....

Holy crap Howie! Somebody must have just pounded Ok. St. because I was going to post where they currently were (+2450) when I posted my 1st reply. It's gone down a whole 600 points in a matter of minutes. WOW! Somebody must be reading our threads. :tongue

Wow Howie....I guess I don't shop around enough... :) But in either case, I think I may still take a stab at the Olympic 'Field' play. Not 100% convinced that either will win it, but I don't mind having both of 'em in my back pocket at one price...
