I am starting to think this guy cant coach a lick. He had a good run at Tulsa.........then inherited a lot of Lon Krugers players at Illinois and didnt really do to much except for the year they lost in the elite eight to Arizona..........Now he takes over KU with some decent talent and he sucks yet again.......Ku has lost their last 4 road games by like a 17pt average.........Ku fans cant be to impressed...........

never liked him anywhere he coached.....as an IU alum, I think Mike Davis and Bill Self are feeling some heat right now. Fans of those two schools don't like to lose period...but if you are competitive and come up short, ok....but to lose in the fashion both of those schools have this year by the margins they have this year is not tolerated at all. :nono:

to bring in some of his own players and see how Kansas does the next couple of years .... not saying the cupboard was bare coming in this year - far from it although the bench is totally lacking, but with the Roy Williams saga and the 3 juniors (Simien, Langford & Miles) losing their coach/mentor and now trying to play a different style of ball, that has been tough for both players and coach .... don't see the Jayhawks doing much in the NCAA tourney this year, Sweet 16 tops .... being a KU fan I'm definitely not impressed with the results so far (although 17-7 isn't terrible) and sometimes I do question Self's substitution patterns, for supposedly a players coach the boys have not responded all that well so far (i.e. Jeff Graves prime example) .... it remains to be seen and IMO next year should tell alot as on paper Kansas will be loaded .... with Self moving around so much in his career hard to get a true read on his coaching ability, but don't see him leaving Lawrence for quite awhile .... unless Eddie Sutton retires & twists his arm to come back to Okie State - oh no not again!!!

I'm a KU fan , and am missing roy williams very much. I hated to see him leave, but I thought self would be a decent fit. NOPE. maybe he just needs time to get his system worked in, but right now I am not happy at all.

Time will tell, but my prediction is that Self will be more succesful than Williams. KU has very little talent. Simien is a terrific player, but Miles and Langford are incredibly overrated. Padgett will be a good player, but is young. Giddons will probably be very good, but again is young. Roy got out when the gettin was good.
