If St. Johns can score 51 points, isn't it a pretty good bet to take St. Johns and the over (+14' and 126) any thoughts would be great.

Now they only need to score 50 for the game lines I can get are +15' and 125 and for the 1st half are + 9 and 57' which means they score 25 and you can't lose both.

Not so sure how many points this depleted team can score, but they may get some garbage late in the second half to get over your number. It may be too late for them to cover the spread though, and you could end up paying juice.
I always believe in playing bets to win rather than to be happy with a split. I see your theory on this, but I like Prov. to cover the number so I can't really say that i will be rooting for you to hit them both, so good luck on the split.
Good Luck.

I agree that you play to win! My thoughts are worst case scenario is that you get a split. With the line being set this low they make it seem as if points will be at a premium, thus making 15' worth more than usual with this low total.

I see your point. I believe that the reason the total is so low, is because even as bad as the Johnnies are, they still only give up an average of 66 points per game. (66+ your 50 you are shooting for, is going to equal two losers; and this scenerio still leaves 9 points to play with. Even at that, Prov. averages 71 points per game, add that to your 50, and you still have two losers.
I am just not to sure about this one, but I've been wrong more than right in my lifetime of betting. Good luck.

I was taught a long time ago by a very good player that our job as handicapper is to take away the bookmakers edge. That being said this is a very solid angle in my humble opinion.

Yes it is possible to lose both, but 125-16 =109 :- 2=54.5 so IF you think STJ can score 50 + the odds of lossing both are low. I can also see one team burning the final 30 seconds of the game with a 17 point lead at a score of 52-69, 53-70, 54-71 (a push on the current total)

But his edge is the juice and going .500 long enough will make you broke.

That said I like the angle as I believe long term this is a good angle.

Took a chance and bet both 1st half and the game. lost 20, assuming the johnnies can't do any thing in the 2nd half, to win 400. just happy i did not parlay them. Points are not at a premium!!!
