North Carolina is due for a letdown after their upset road win at rival NC State on Saturday. In fact, the Tarheels qualify in a very negative 23-69 ATS big home favorite letdown situation tonight and teams in that situation are an even worse 9-31 ATS if laying 17 points or more. Clemson hasn?t been good on the road this season (3-6 ATS), but they?re 3-2 ATS getting more than 13 points, including 2-0 ATS after a loss. My ratings favor North Carolina by 18 points in this game, but the situation is strong enough to give up some line value and I?ll take 17 points or more with Clemson in a 2-Star Best Bet. Upgrade Clemson to a 3-Star Best Bet if they become an underdog of 18 points or more.

Virginia has knocked off Georgia Tech and North Carolina in their last two home games and they are in a good spot to upset the streaking Demon Deacons tonight. The Cavaliers qualify in a couple of good home revenge situations, a 123-69-5 ATS situation and a 116- 58-8 ATS situation that combine to go 20-4 ATS when both apply to the same game. While the situation is strongly in favor of Virginia, my ratings favor Wake Forest by 7 1/2 points in this game, which takes away some of the overall value. However, Virginia still has a profitable 60% chance of covering at +6 points, which is the number at which I?ll make the Cavaliers a Best Bet. I?ll take Virginia for 2-Stars if they are an underdog of 6 points or more and I?ll consider them a Strong Opinion if they remain a dog of less than 6 points.
