Hey there dogs that bark, that's one of the silliest things i've ever seen. Are you really worried that the water here on earth will dry up? See, this is what i'm talking about with these dumb threads. It brings out the loonies!!! Are you also afraid that a rock the size of a planet will be crashing down on earth destroying the whole world? Hey, maybe earth will get sucked into a black hole!!! Maybe Mrs. Olearys cow will knock over a lantern and whole country will go up in flames. Do you hide in the closet when somebody knocks on your door?

Wonder what would happen if we flew directly into one of
these black holes? would we come out in another solar system ?

maybe we could send beantownjim and PP on a mission to
try this theory out. If we never heard from them they would
have contributed immensely to the human population.

Instead PP will probably follow Ace around for years

Here, you post that nice article about black holes and it was a very interesting read. I was actually impressed on your ability to post that... because I figured maybe you actually read what you copied and pasted.

You DO NOT POP OUT ANYWHERE when you go to a "black hole"
If you fly into a black hole you will die because you will be crushed by the gravitational forces acting upon you pulling you into the black hole.

Think of it like a magic bag Scott. The bag just lays there open, and when things go past it, the bag reaches it magic hand out and pulls it into the bag. Once its inside the bag, it cant go anywhere because the magic hand keeps slapping it back down inside the bag every time it tries to get out.

Not sure why you refer to me as monkey.

I am King of Dogs.

I read everything I cut and pasted thoroughly looking for errors just so you know I have proofreading capablilities.

The part I liked most was this.

"Astronomers want to observe the regions near black holes because they believe that a black hole's powerful gravity will warp the space and time next to it in accord with the bizarre predictions of Einstein's theory. "

To me this is saying that if Einsteins theory is correct we can
enter into the black hole, time will warp, and we will enter
into a new solar system. It will be the beginning of time travel.

I believe that when UFOs visit our planet this is how they get here. Thats why we don't see them much. They know how to get around in the black hole quagmire known as space. Their ships
can withstand the tremendous gravity that would crush the space shuttle like a bug.

Its going to take awhile to get astronauts to try this one though.
Thats why I recommended PP and BTJ. No great loss there.

I am sorry if some of this is way over your head marine.

When did Einstein ever talk about time travel?

Yes, it is feasible that "time" warps...that is a term/phrase regarding the measure of "light" as in light years, light/distance. Not-
Oh look, its 3:24 PM and we are going in...

POP

here we are on the other side and it is 5 pm the day before. Oh look, its a whole different solar system, hey there goes the UFO that stole farmer charlie's cow lastweek!

The gravitational pull has an adverse effect on the light that is traveling near it.. sucking it in and warping it so that you can not accurately measure the distance things are traveling because the constant (light) has become no longer a constant.

I guess most this stuff will mean more to our grandkids then us.
We could do alittle more exploring right here in our Oceans. Try to understand what would make all that water dry up. Then we might know why it dried up on Mars. Heck we dont even have to go far to look. We should study more about this global warming idea. If true that would be more of a problem to us in next 50 to 100 years then Mars being dry. Of course we would be drowning. Dam all that ice melts were in deep chit. :D

this is how it is defined on earth....from our perspective....and how we perceive life....i'm not quite sure that it applies to the rest of the universe, though!!!

I remember when I was a kid, and all the talk was of how North America was about to covered by glaciers. Now we are frying.

Most of the time, these scientists are just practicing theory. In another 10 years, they be telling us the moon is getting to close and is going to crush a Chevy dealership in Iowa.:moon:

NASA determined that Mars, at one time, had water. They report, that sadly, Mars is now mostly Jack Daniels and heroin.......
