Is this only the 4th year. I thought we had four and this was five. Could be all the reruns we been seeing. Anyway 13 this year and 10 more shows next year and they say its done. We shall see. I like it very much been withit from the start. I think anyone that followed it all the way would understand and get more out of it. Slow start last night. But get ready. I mean we only had on killing and a little sex. Never even got over to the night club. Dam have those two kid's growen up fast.

"the bunker"
fantastic show

fantastic show

one of the best shows ever...and last night was solid....

how could you not love the irony of imperioli killing a guy with a rock so indiscriminately and then having he and paulie make up the next day....the impulsive killing of an innocent waiter just an afterthought...

even more stunning than joe pesci beating frank vincent to death over ribbing him about his "shine box"....very similar...

classic stuff....that`s what makes the show powerful and makes the point about these guys being sociopaths ...

and the writing and dialogue is unreal...

might be the best t.v. show ever...imo...

First off, those who are going on and on about how it sucks seem to be the people who watch every now and then. If that is the case I'd suggest as other starting at the first episode to be fair and then judge for yourself. Those who have seen it before should appreciate the fact that EVERY first episode has started slow and gives us a glimpse of what to expect for the year.

Two quick point: I agree with those who are saying the bear was Tony as we know he related to animals ("the ducks" and Pi-Oh-My) in the past. Also, the killing of the waiter was viewed as the comic relief segment by anyone who has watched the show. Chis and Paulie are fantastic together and told the story of arguably the best episode ever when they are chasing the Russian in the Pine Barrens... watching two mobsters eat ketchup packets freezing their ass off is great t.v.!

thats a good question blitz...........I was thinking the same thing ???? Maybe just residing together?????? I don't remember a wedding and girls tend to remember those sorts of things;)

It being the first show , they didn't touch on the fact that Christophers wife , whats her name again it lost me for a momment????? is a "rat" and is working with the feds:eek: oh girl!!!!!!! I feel sorry for her, bad, bad, decision making there.................

I think the pot will thicken if you know what I mean when all the old timer/ new guys to the show come home from the pen too.......

I LOVE THIS SHOW and I think sunday night is a perfect time for it , because who isn't home on sunday nights

To answer the question if Janice or Bobby are married; no they are not. Janice started "helping out" after Bobby's wife died by taking care of the family. How could those of us who saw the episode forget how Janice insisted he cook his wife's frozen lasagna which was the last thing she made. When the freezer was empty of dishes sent by others Bobby refused to cook it while Janice hoped it would help him "move on". After that we are to assume that things are fine with them but Janice will do one of a few things: 1) piss him off and move on to another guy 2) cheat on him with one of the "new" guys (possibly Tony's counsin?) or 3) do something to endanger on of his kids...

My vote, knowing the show's writers, is all three.

The Sopranos is easily one of the top 5 best shows that have ever been on the small screen. If you think this show is about the Mob and violence, you don't a clue about what its really about.
This is season number 5, and last season was easily the worst of the first 4. Missed last nights show as I was at the Neil Young concert, but the beauty of HBO is that I'll watch it tomarrow night.....:D

Another great HBO show is "Six feet under" Possibly better than the Sopranos, IMO.

Anyone else hear the rumors that Adrianna will be the first of the "family" to get knocked off this season? Wouldn't suprise me if thats the case, what with her working for the Feds now....

Deadwood

Deadwood

looks like another winner for hbo....at least based on the trailer....looks to show the old west as a dirty, lawless, gritty era yhay it apparently was.....

from what i`ve seen on the promo`s,this may also be a big hit....

western`s have gone the way of the do-do bird over the last decade or so....maybe,this gives `em a goose....

Bobby and Janice are definately married. Remember when she said she lost her wedding ring and was looking through the trash??

After seeing shows like 24 and The Shield (s3 begins tonight), The Sopranos just doesnt do it for me anymore. Ive seen every season except s2. Last year was terrible. I will keep watching and hopefully it will strike a chord.

They are married  I taped the episode and watched it again last night. Not sure how I missed her saying that but probably because of the people at my house to watch the show, which was exactly why I taped it. Next time no one gets in...

I was actually going to post that this afternoon but gdogg47 beat me to it.

Sorry TBONEZ !

I wish that I could go but I will be in Philly that weekend for a bachelor party. Aside from my own wedding this October we have 9 other weddings to go to this year. Hopefully I can go next year or possibly to Vegas for the Super Bowl party...

I DO like Neil Young.

Sailing heart-ships
thru broken harbors
Out on the waves in the night
Still the searcher
must ride the dark horse
Racing alone in his fright.
Tell me why, tell me why

Hemingway Corner did a GREAT cover of this song.....

So Cal
Love the Sopranos. It is very realistic. Had a friend, now passed away, that came out here from the Bronx and was a dead ringer for Tony - the way he dressed, talked, acted, etc. Had been in mob since a kid. You can't condemn the show simply because a waiter gets wasted for complaining about a week tip. Sure it is senseless, but crazier things happen every day in real life. You have to have watched the show from the beginning to get the true feel of it. This year should be great with Buscemi who will tangle with Tony for sure.

Also can't take my eyes off The Shield. You might not like cops too much after seeing this show, but it is gritty and intense. Another show I like on HBO is The Wire. Not many see it = I think it has been on 2 years and I hope it is coming back. Another fascinating show.
