Whats the story about the unecessary hit that put a player in the hospital with damage to his back. Dam is Hockey getting to be a place a family man will think twice about taking any kid under 14 to a game. With some luck the player that cause this injury is suspended. And with some luck suspended a long time. I see why I enjoy University Hockey. A very good game and they stick to playing the game. Of course haveing a great hockey program as Wisky does makes that easy. But Pro Hockey just seems to be getting out of line. What does the jury of MadJackers think?

How about Tonya Harding getting to play for a minor league
hockey team. Its the same team that Minute Bol played on
to attract fans in.

And for the night that Harding is to play they have guaranteed
a fight or you get free tickets to another game.

Hockey wants fighting. The hypocrites. I think they should not
have any rules about high sticking. Let them split each others skulls open at will. Thats what hockey fans want isn't it ?

I see a lot of fights replayed on ESPN.......

seen a number of them where two guys are in a boxing stance and skating in circles, trading punches back and forth.....the referees are outside the circle just watching it happen....

seems like when they fall down the refs actually step in to pull them apart and break up the fight....

what other sport besides hockey do the officials respond in this manner?

Each team has their own links for
fight pictures. Tell me they don't encourage
fighting. Its all they have.

Well my point is then no one should complain when a cheap
shot opens a guys skull. After all they instruct the refs to
step back and let fights happen so the fans can enjoy them.

I hear ya scott, BUT I wasn't complaining, I definately feel for the guy who was injured though, thats for sure!!!!!!!!!DJV asked what the forum thought about the way hockey is today ????? Being from philly, thus remembering the broad street bullie days, I THINK IT HAS CALMED DOWN CONSIDERABLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

but I must say I enjoyed watching the 3rd period of last friday nights game flyers/senators and I am not really a big hockey fan!!!!!!!

djv college and olympic are the best IMO to watch , watch it all the time on dtv , I am with T if I watch a nhl game it is more for the fights and hits more then the game itself, playoffs are ok but i will take college and olympic over nhl for enjoyment anyday.

hard hits & fights are always part of hockey, always have been. But this was the cheapest of cheap shots, Supreme cowardice, that could have ended this kids life, if not paralyzed him for life, which believe me is no picnic. I've heard people so stupid say its actually Moores fault for going unconscious so easy:confused:

any grown professional athlete 200 + pounds with a Free shot at someone's unsuspecting head should be able to knock him out every single time. I hope to God the remainder of this guys Life isn't afflicted by this, my brother knows of him, he's a Harvard kid with a pretty good head on his shoulders. The penalty should be simple 10x the games Moore misses. And if I remember correctly this idiot had a issue like this last season, suspended 10 games or something, another time 3 strikes, suspended for life. Sports are entertainment, nobody should lose their life or the ability to play with their kids standing, because somebody is a reckless coward and can't restrain from brutal cheap play. Like in boxing Gallata couldn't restrain from low blows, some people can't restrain from cheap shots.
