Monmouth will win this game, It is a certainty at Boylan. By how much is the question. 6 is a tough number for a Championship game, especially vs a team that has success in the NEC tournament. I would not expect an upset here..Monmouth will win,but by how many??? It will be right on the number...if I could bet PUSH I would...the game will be Monmouth by 5,6 or 7 with 10 seconds left...the Gambling Gods will decide your fate from there.
Be careful with Monmouth, I am a graduate and Boylan is a very small, loud gym to play at. Monmouth will win this game because of the homecourt factor, where they are undefeated this year. This Central team is not nearly as good as their past teams that rolled through the NEC tournaments. They were lead by that BEAST Decoursley Edwards...with him gone, Hamilton will control the middle and the Hawks will get plenty of home cooking from the refs...they always do at Boylan...Monmouth also has a deep bench and one of the best defensive systems in the country with their Temple Match-Up zone and slow down cycle offense. Monmouth will win, 6 is a big number for a team that can barely break 60 pts, but with FT's down the stretch I'd be leary. Monmouth is notoriously a HORRIBLE first half team that wears down the other team in the 2nd half...they only allow deep jumpers and 3's and once they start to clang off the rim Monmouth slowly turns a deficit into a 3-4 pt lead..which leads to more desperate jumpers down the stretch and over the back rebound fouls out of frustration...the are Princeton JR in a worse conference....The o/u is also WAY to high...winner will have 60, loser 50ish...Mark it down, I know my Hawks and Coach Callaway..Byfield is dangerous from 3....if he's on his game its over early...you can't come from behind vs the Hawks...good luck..they will be a very dangerous 15 seed this year...I'm hoping for Kentucky, Hawks will give them fits much like Holy Cross did.
