now this crap has been brought to the Pac-10 with "dick" bennett and ben howland. Wazzu plays that hold the ball EVERY possession game, how boring and demeaning. They are down 17 with 2-3 mins left and they are walking it up holding the ball until 5 secs left to force a crap shot.

Game finishes at 115 (total 116) with 2 stanford players going for an easy putback dunk...of course both collide and the ball bounces off the rim to another stanford player for a bunny..of course he loses his balance and eventually misses the uncontested layup a split second after the horn sounds.

This is not a new development. Did you for some reason expect something different today than their first 30 or so games?

no

but i do expect a real "coach" or "team" to try and win a game by speeding things up when trailing with 5 mins left.

they wouldn't have won had they held stanford scoreless and scored a 3 pointer on EVERY possession in the last 4 minutes...they only gave themselves about 4-5 possessions.

what HS basketball player sits there and says "hey, i'd really like to take my skills to Wazzu so I can stand around and run the shot clock down for 40 minutes"?
