actually they aren't a good team.
vs similar competition they are good......but vs a top 4 seed like they will see next week; they will get run..
they looked horrible vs the 1-3-1 pressure. If they play a lville/cincy type team that will trap they will commit 20 turnovers and lose by DD.

seriously- this is the same pacific team that:
* gave duke a legitimate game. didnt get run off the floor
* beat utah state
* was competitive for 30:00 on the road at st.joes
* beat nevada (another tourney team)
* shoot Fts and the 3 well and are well coached
im calling it like i see it. i had northridge, but the fact remains pacific is still a nice team.
if pacific woulda won by 15, everyone would be singing their praises.
they did the same thing that nc state did. they got complacent when they got a big early lead. before the game, everyone was touting how great they were. now they win the game, dont cover, and now suck?

agree with gman, match-up them with a big 10/ higher seed big 12 team or like... and i'll take all those points. any day. remember how they were vs. duke in december.

Gman when lines come out tomorrow lets discuss this Pacific team-we can break it down position by position whatever you want-the only way Pacific wins a 1st rd game is they slow the clock down and have 10 or less turnovers. And if that happens they might stay within 10.

They played Duke pretty good in December-damn fellas that was 3 months ago-Duke has gotten a whole lot better and Pacific has probably stayed the same.

How can you not penetrate against a 1-3-1?damn all you have to do is beat the point man on defense and make one of the wing guys pick you up and dish it of. Fuxck they couldnt even do that-they played pitch and catch the whole fuxckin game.

same with the west coast conference, which is not as strong as its been. but i think gonzaga will be fine.
what im saying is i look at teams in a vacuum. if i like their style of play and if they are a disciplined group that does the little things correctly, they will also be worth a look as a dog.

one thing i will say: i enjoy conversing with someone who knows you game. you do. as for pitch and catch- thats become the trend in college basketball too often lately. very few players truly understand how to attack a zone. the only way a zone is gonna react is by dribble penetration (or with the occasional skip pass). duke does a good job of dribble penetrating. granted theyre a good team regardless but they are well-coached and it shows
