weeks of the season and that will explain why they got the seed they did. they earned it. might not deserve it, but they DID earn it.

won at #19 nc state
won vs. virginia
won vs. #14 wake forest
won vs #19 nc state
won vs #4 duke

you beat 4 ranked teams in five games, youve earned the benefit of the doubt.

clearly maryland was rewarding for their playing in the acc. and they have really matured a lot in the last month. they dont look like the same team that struggled in january

also- keep in mind, they BEAT wisconsin earlier this season (when maryland was much weaker)

both teams have of course improved and wisky deserved better, but terps earned their seed

still that seed makes no sense worse, the NCAA had to redo alot after that game to give them the seed no way they were a 4 if they lost today, and with all the ACC teams in there and the various rules it wasnt a simple switch out

keep in mind that they cant play a conference team until a regionsal final either my guess is they were a 7 and they had no choice as couldnt put them in a 3-6 game so it was a 4 or 7

im not gonna say i know what goes on in those rooms. and youre right, theyre not a #4 if they lose. but the duke wins carries a lot of weight considering the devils dominance in that tourney the last half decade

Who gives a shit who they beat they are a joke. this commitee is a bunch of old geezers strokin the acc as usual. Maryland better hope it don't come down to free throws to move on. How many times did they get blown out during the year. Mark my word and it will be so great to see it happen not one acc team will make the final 4. I could care less what they did in that tourney. They where playing just to make the dam thing then they get a 4 yea ok. Still think it is a joke but this could be the best year for duke to get smacked in the first round.

so winning the conference tournament of the strongest conference in the country (by FAR) carries no weight? what the hell matters then? they just beat 4 ranked teams in like a 2 week span

also- this is just a precursor for next year, when maryland is gonna probably be a top 10 team without a doubt

Well first off I don't think the acc is the strongest conference in the country. Just because Vitale had reddicks and duhons shafts in his mouth and he says so does not mean I agree. And no I don't think conference tourney champ means that much If that is the case then Wisky should be a 3 at least and duke a 2 and uconn a 1 if tourney champs mattered. but for maryland to be a 4 is a complete joke. No matter what they did not deserve a 4.

you cant throw that out there and then not say what the best conference is and why the acc is not the best.

i dont need vitale to tell me the acc is absolutely the best conference.

as for comparing who wisconsin beat in the tourney and who maryland beat.

Well hell i forgot how easy it was to win on the road in the big ten. Wisky goes 12-4 in big ten. Average 20 point margin of victory at home. Ranked all year in top 20 probably will finish in the polls at number 10. Maryland would not have been in the top 20 unless they beat duke today. Wiskies rpi rank is 12 Turtles 18 last I seen. I don't get it. Does not make sense to me at all.

keep in mind, im NOT knocking wisconsin. they deserved a better seed. my whole thing is that maryland EARNED their seed. wisky can take their beef up with kansas, not maryland. terps played in the toughest conf in the country and are peaking right now
