* altman has dominated collier in their meetings.

* nebraska showed some improvement but was lame down the stretch this season

* jays won earlier meeting this season

* creightons won the L5 meetings

* creighton lost one home game the entire season, a 1 point loss to southern illinois

anyone know what kind of crowd creighton is expecting? thought i read that their earlier matchup this season broke the creighton attendance record. is there any buzz around this rivalry the second time around? or does indifference and apathy abound?

can't imagine that the game won't sell out. with the short line, my take is creighton or no play.

Gman I have a little biscut for you that will lock down your CU bet:

CU has lost 4 games in the last 4 years @ home. All to SIU.

I will take my chances with CU ML.

Good Luck

Motivation may be on the side of the Huskers who are happy to still be playing. I would have to think that Creighton must be disappointed that they are in the NIT after several years of successful NCAA tourneys. Changes since the previous meeting, Creighton PG McKinney is out with an eye problem, their slide in the MVC coincided with his absence. Nebraska PG Johnson played sparingly in the last game because of the flu. Personally, I am on Nebraska, but it may be a homer play.

Nebraska's earlier road loss against Creighton was amongst a stretch of games against puppy teams. They really couldn't have been prepared for a road game against such a strong home court opponent. I think Nebraska's last five opponents were of a very high caliber. Why would a team only be favored by two that is 14-1 at home, playing a team that is 2-9 on the road? Nebraska's schedule was much stronger. In the loss, Nebraska didn't get anything from the stripe or the three point line. The only thing keeping me from playing Nebraska, is them being 2-27 SU as a road dog.

Sun, I am realizing more and more that you and I just don't see most things the same way (not that it makes either of us wrong). Just don't understand how you think this is a bad line. Right now, consensus is 57-43 (according to *********) in favor of NEBRASKA, so how is the line too low? If anything it should move closer to a pick. You will very rarely find a mid-major favored significantly over a decent team from a major conference, even if they have a great home record.

Of course, you may turn out to be right about the game, but I don't think it's at all because the line is bad.

Good Luck tonight GMan! I'm with you on the play pretty large, can't see Creighton losing at home to Nebraska. Already beat them once and they'll do it again.

Gman,

You just never know what you are going to get with either of this teams....I woild suggest a pass. But, since I am a degenerate gambler, bored unless I have action. Creighton is always hyped to play in state big bother and have owned them past few years.

Boy gman, we've known each other a long time via the Internet, and it still amazes me how many people continue to pounce on you. 3 years at least that I know of.

These guys with 3 or 4 posts are so easy to figure where they came from.

gman explained yesterday about the "not posting again until Thursday" comment but I guess that's too difficult to understand.

Good luck tonight. Not sure if I'm going to play Creighton though.

lennie, wilson, johnny, et al. thanks for the legit replies.

nole- youd be amazed if you knew the half of it, especially with 'the gridiron'. lots of dual personalities to say the least.
like you said, some guys just have poor comprehension skills. really not that difficult to understand.i guess i take my basic functional skills for granted. guys like you are intelligent enough to

whats so hard about ignoring a thread if you dont have anthing to add on the creighton/nebraska game. just dont open the thread. the sad thing is, a lot of these guys are fully grown men.

Big name school getting points in the NIT against someone they just barely have heard of. We who play every day forget that most of the people betting the tourns are the same ones that play only the TV games on Sat and Sun. Creighton has one other reason to be the play. The NIT puts the teams they expect to get to NY at home and the refs act accordingly. Anyone betting against a home team giving less than 3 in the first game of the NIT just likes to gamble. Either Cre or pass. I'll try the home team.

the way i see it is a lean towards nebraska
there d allowed an avg of 61 ppg while creit allowed 68 ppg
i think neb plays in a tougher conf and when the two met back in jan. creit was a rd game sandwhiched between 8 home games(5 then 3) a tough spot to perform

i think theres something to be said for this post. i think sometimes we try to 'out-think' ourselves. just because 'we' know and are familiar with the smaller schools. having said that, creighton is sort of 'on the map', so i dont know. theres no doubt thats sometimes "a line can tell you the play without capping the game" in some instances. but im not sure if its applicable here. gsp, what you posted is very true. theres a fine line between respecting a line and 'out-thinking yourself. almost like the pitcher who wont throw the fastball for the strikeout even though he's gotten to the 0-2 count with 2 heaters and knows the hitter cant touch it.

rwall:

thank you for your reply. you bring up some good points. looks like (save for two rejects) weve got a good discussion and point-counterpoint on this game. thanks again

nebraska is pathetic on the road, totally different at home, playing a quality opponent that does not lose at home, line is where it is because of big 12 playing small conf opp- creighton is the better team on a neutral court let alone playing at home.
