Am going to paste my post from a few days ago to finish it up.I'm going away tomr to the NY State HS Basketball Championships in Glen Falls.
Get to the see the future Fraziers,Hodges,Gordons,Marburrys, etc.
Will be back Sunday.Hope everyone "beats their man or islands" over the weekend. Thanks for all the nice comments and help.

Florida -5.5 over Manhattan *******
Cuse -2 over BYU ****
Dayton +2.5 over Depaul **
Bama -2.5 over SIU..top play *******
Zona -3 over Seton Hall ***
NC Charlotte +1.5 over Texas Tech **
ETSU - over Cincy **
Princeton +11.5 over Texas ***

I see many are on Manhattan.Think MC has big time matchup problems.
Florida despite "Dry" going back to Europe this team is still solid.People are saying they are overated.Damn.They just lost to Kentucky in the SEC finals.Prior to the UK loss they beat Vandy 91-69.Beat Bama,Georgia,Arkansas,South Carolina and Miss by 2,8,5,11 and 15.
There is a big difference in Manhattan beating Marist by 1,losing to Rider by 1,beating Niagara by 1 in the MAAC finals.
MC lost to 5 teams this yr.All had good gds.Penn,Wichita St,Rider,Iona and the Cuse. They have close wins by beating St peters,Niagara,Fairfield, etc all by 3 pts.
MAAC vs SEC is day and nite.Manhattan is the elite team of the MAAC but they almost lost the championship game.
Florida played the 6th toughest schedule in the country.MC beat Richmond and Wisky-Mil besides the MAAC teams.

But this game is all about matchups.Florida the past 8 games since losing Dry has gone to zone defenses and hasn't pressed as much. But that has worked in there favor.
The Big 3 are Lee,Roberson and Walsh. All 3 create matchup problems for the Jaspers defense.Lee inside and outside is much quicker and can score.Roberson who is avg 17 pts a game but over 20 pts in the SEC tourney can play the 1 or the 2.He can shoot the eyes out of the hoop.Walsh is the 2 or 3 who can do it all. These 3 avg just under 50 pts in the SEC.Lee is 6'9 and Walsh is 6'5.Humprey is the 6'2 gd that is also quick and can shoot.
Moss and Colas both avg about 5 pts a game and are both 6'9.The frosh Abukar also plays and is 6'10.Al-Kaleem and Appley are both 6'3 gds and will play. All are athletic...

MC has Flores who is avg 24 pts a game.Minor and Wingate split time at the pt.Both are small and weigh maybe 170 pounds each.Holmes and Benton inside are 6'6 and 6'7.Mulligan is 6'5.Thats there front line and Mulligan really plays better outside..... MC has no muscle or bulk after Holmes and Benton.Their interior defense will be in trouble.Look what happened in the MAAC finals vs Niagara.NU scored inside all day.
Gators front line could dominate in the paint. If Benton or Holmes get into foul trouble there dead.
Gators are so explosive on offense.Roberson at the pt or 2 gd can spot up and hit a jumper, breakdown a defensive player, penetrate or pass.Flores can do the same but is much slower.
If Roberson was in the MAAC he would avg just what Flores does and be MAAC pl of the yr.
This team hit 10 tre's vs Kentucky in the finals. They destroyed Vandy and hit 13 beyond the arc.
The problem with Florida is there defense. But MC's offense is not an explosive one.Like I said earlier MC pt gds are avg.Teams like Niagara,Rider, and Iona exposed them.
And in the paint Florida has three 6'9 kids, one 6'8,and one 6'10.
Manhattan's post and perimeter defense will be tested.I don't think they have enough to stop the trio of Lee,Walsh and Roberson. If they go zone the gators will shoot the lites out.If they go man,Roberson will breakdown anyone. And who gds Walsh at 6'6.
Both teams are excellant FT shooting teams.
Gators beat my boys from the Bronx by double digits

Bama -2.5 over SIU
SIU has lost 2 of last 3.Brooks is there star.MVP of MVC.Korn,Hariston are all solid. This is a gd strong team. They play great perimeter defense, trap, get steals, etc.Play half court offense unless their defense gets steals. But they have little size inside and that is a problem.
Bama is loaded.Greyhounds everywhere.Shelton, Thomas,and Winston can score.Davis also avg double figures.Winston at 6'6 avg 18 pts a game.
They do turn the ball over a lot and are not a good passing team. But they are so athletic and much quicker then SIU.And they can score They beat Miss St at there place a few weeks ago. They are a good road team and 16-8 ats this yr.

Zona -3 over Seton Hall
Hall ended up going 3-3 in last 6 games. Then got bounced by Nova in the 1st round of the BE.Lots of talent and a great pt gd in barrett.Allen,Toney,Sweet, etc are all 6'6 greyhounds. But they are undersized with only Whitney as there post player.
Zona did the same thing down the strecth. But Zona has a stud at center in Frye at 6'10.Adams is a 6'4 power fd and Iguadala is 6'6.Their front line is a little bit better.Shakur plays the pt and leading scorer Stoudmire can shoot the hell out of the hoop.
This is some talented team.Zona wants to run and gun.Hall wants to slow it down.I'll gp with the higher powered offense in Zona.

Cuse -2 vs BYU
Cuses zone will give BYU problems.Collaspe on Araujo. He is great but what defense is better to shut down a post player...Boes zones.GMAC and Warrick should be able to score vs BYU defense.Bigelow is BYU's only real outside threat.Cuse will rise to the occasion...

Princeton +11.5 over Texas ***
Texas is so much stronger,bigger,athletic,etc,etc.
It's funny how Princeton doesn't run the Princeton offense anymore.Air force does.Tiger offense has changed. They run, shoot the 3's when open and run the clock.
no more backdoor cuts, dribble handoffs. This is a new offense and more athletic.Wallace,Venable and Greeman are there scorers.
Lyr they played Texas in a 2-3 zone and Texas couldn't score.even with TJ at the pt.Thompson had to borrow the Kansas St tape and will do the same.Collaspe in a zone.Texas has transition offense but their half court is bad. They couln't score vs OU and then Ok St.
Close game.Tigers drive the Longhorns nuts and cover.

East Tenn over Cincy **
ETSU can win this outright.Everyone back from lyr's almost upset of Wake.Smith is a great pt gd.Zakee can score and Fields is tough.

Dayton +2.5 over DePaul **
UD's frontline controls the glass.

Charlotte +1.5 over Texas Tech
TT has Emmitt,Char has Withers,Brown and Plavich.Upset here.Iti at 7'0 takes up enough space.
See you all on sunday..good luck

Well,I thought I said goodbye. But its snowing here again and were on a 2-hour school delay.

Status of Walsh is a big question mark. His blister and tendon problem is still bothering him.He is questionable now.Of course if he doesn't play then I would pass on the game. He's probley the biggest reason of the mismatch that the jaspers face.Who gds this 6'6 wingman.
I'm made my play and am sticking with it.But if anyone gets an update in the next couple of hours please post it.I don't want to recommend a game if he's out.And who really knows whats going on.Donovan isn't gonna let anyone know till the tap anyway.

ETSU +9.5 over Cincy ***
Both teams can run,are athletic and are quick.I see ET staying with the Kats. They might not see the "blur"5'9 Smith and have to deal with the best name in the tourney Zakee Wadood.

Adding Boston Col -2 over UtaH **
Smith and Dudley really have elevated them the past 2 weeks.

XU +2 over Louisville **
Going with the hot team.I know everyone in the world is doing the same but Cards are 4-8 in last 12.Matta is just as good a coach as Pitino.

Western Mich -1 over vandy **
Williams and Reed. WM is a great ats team.

I'm off to see the best high school basketball in the country.
I know,Indiana,Pa,Florida,NJ and a few others have some talent too. Good luck.Watch for Walsh's status. It's a noon game today.
