gents, this is early, but ok st is only 5-1/2 over my tigers. i don't get it. the memphis team beat a $hitty sc team today and it took a heroic effort from carney. easily the best game of his career. memphis only scoring is from deep and transition. ok st defends the prerimeter like its daughter's virginity and they typically get back on d extremely well. will be on the cowboys very big. it will suck playing against my own team but i do not see it any other way.

gman2, please expound on this reasoning. i have watched all memphis games this year and i have watched a few of ok st. i am a silent texas admirer and ok st beat this team 2 -3 times this year. i saw the games. memphis cannot score inside and must shoot well to win. memphis lost 2 of there last 3 to louisville, cinncy respectively. the porous interior def of memphis was not challenged today as sc struggled just getting the ball up the court. please, give me some argument here. if i am to make a mistake i at least want an opposing opinion. i have tried to view this game objectively, but could be too critical of memphis as i watch all their games.

Elvis,

With all due respect, there is a difference between playing like $hit and being a "$hitty" team. I would definitely say S. Carolina falls into the former and not the latter. I've seen them play some great games this year, far too many to be labled a "$hitty" team. Granted, they played like absolute ass today, but still, not too bad for a team that was picked by everyone to finish dead last in the SEC East. I can't imagine old Davey would have won SEC coach of the year for coaching a "$hitty" team to the NCAAs.

Give your team more credit. Memphis is a talented and very athletic team. Just like Gman said, I could easily see Memphis winning this one outright. This is the tourney, anything goes...except S. Carolina to the second round that is. :D

GL to your Tigers.

gamecock, apologize for the label of $hitty. i checked your record b4 today and discussed it with several sec fans in my area. i know you guys were missing howles (sp.) i based my thread off of today's performance. no disrespect intended toward the team for the whole year. today's effort was very poor and my comments were based on today. ;)

No sweat Elvis, I just hate that America saw the crappy South Carolina team today instead of the team I've watched all year. They simply can't handle the big stage, but that's no newsflash to anyone that follows USC athletics.

Sorry if you lost some coin on the Cocks today. They'll be back soon, hopefully next year. I'll be pulling for the Tigers on Sunday.

Best of luck.

Elvis, i don't know??? If you look at the USC game, Burks and Banks were 5-22 and a combined 13 pts!!!! These two are easily capable of 35+ together on any given night. They played HORRIBLE against USC. I expect one if not both to show up on sunday, they are too good to have two down games IMO. If Carney plays half as well and rice chips in his share i think the tigers can win. You said it if their 3 pt shots are falling they can beat anyone. The way i look at it is it's damn scary that our duo did so poorly and the team picked up the slack and the game was never in doubt. I for one will be on the ML big here for the tigers

laying 6 is tough

laying 6 is tough

but to me,an observer and occasional wagerer, looks like a case of consistency vs inconsistency....flash vs substance....

that said,it is the tourney...and anything can and does happen...l

it is going to be interesting listening to calipari after the game. it is toughto be a tiger's fan at this point. i am sick of this arrogant bastard. is he good for the program- yes. but i get sick of his mouth. if he could just coach with no interviews i would be happier. i am sure he will determine that ok st will win the nat title. obviously, how could the tigers lose by 17 to anyone else but the nat champs. dammit to hell, i am so pissed that i did not go deep on this game. i knew memphis would not be able to compete and they didn't. it was a good season overall.
