Anybody catch this last night after Sopranos? I didn't know what to expect, but found it to be a pretty good show. I'll definately be tuning in next week.

I was interested in it after seeing the ads because I'd been to Deadwood a few times when I lived in SD. For those of you who haven't had the misfortune of visiting the state, I can tell you that there probably isn't another state in the union as uncool as South Dakota (except maybe North Dakota). However, there are a few interesting historical things on the west side of the state like the Badlands, Mount Rushmore and Deadwood. Using Deadwood as the concept of a show is a pretty good idea considering its history. The use of real-life historical people like Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane gives the show a little more of an authentic feel, as well.

I recommend checking it out.

cool show, was bored so i decided to watch that instead of doing something constructive.
the opening scene was definately an attention getter.
got kind of an offbeat suspense feel to it.

Found myself LOL at a few of the scenes....very creative swearing going on in the show....thought Calamity Jane was hilarious everytime she showed up on screen....she didn't even have to say anything and I was laughing....great use of gratuitous violence....I give it a thumbs up....besides, my wife didn't care for it, thats how I know its a good show.....

Nice to see the Sopranos getting back to their old ways with the gangsters fighting over lawn care customers by busting each other up...and good seeing Tony slapping that crazy sister of his around a bit, too......

After being to deadwood several times. Including boot hill way up that dam hill. Bill and Jane are buried there. At least the grave stones are there. I can see that places as wide open an nuts 120 years ago as they have it. I like it.

A breath of fresh air to me.
Great characters, old west feel.
Just imagine what it was like to live in those times.
Those people had it great, to be able to discover gold and silver, when most all of us only get to buy it these days
To me, the Sopranos, and Deadwood are the type of shows that 1 hour does not seem to be enough for me.

The Soprano episode was a big improvement over last weeks.
Not because i'm Italian, but I love the boys of the Sopranos.
Look forward to next week!!
