iowa state (+8.5) over florida state

just cant justify fsu as an almost double-digit chalk vs a fairly solid iowa state team that can shoot the ball and put up some points (unlike oklahoma, who seems to be shooting with blindfolds on). NIT home teams have been hitting at a pretty solid clip but i gotta go with the dog here as i think isu can take this game down to the final 2:00

Totally agree, here, gman. I'm going to disregard this line seemingly begging for ISU money. I think the reason it is a little higher than normal is due to the publicity of the ACC and everyone knowing how strong FSU has been at home and the perception that ISU stinks on the road. What isn't reflected in the line IMO is the significant strides that ISU has made over the last ten games or so. FG shooting is about 50% over that time period and I don't see FSU D bothering that. Also, after getting pasted on the road at KSU, the Cyclones have put up some very respectable efforts on the road at KU and Nebraska (two tough venues), having a chance to win both. Also, I watched them in the Big 12 tourney and they gave OSU more of a scare than any other team they faced. Bottomline, this is a good team, clicking offensively and playing with confidence right now. Those are all things I like to see in a team getting 8.5 points. It is not inconceivable that this Big 12 team could possibly pull the upset here.

man that is so incredibly ironic. just looked at the box score. i was just about to submit a post saying how i like that sullivan kid and the way he shoots the ball. and i think vroman aint bad either. for some reason, i just think isu is a better team than some think. and like jcovers said, they gave okie state a real good game in the big 12 tourney. we'll see how it goes. hopefully they can sustain the effort
