Texas was #2 in the country in rebounding. getting killed on offensive glass - 15 or 16 I think. That game is tied is a testament and bodes well if ever shut it down.

well if you are going to miss 2 footer after 2 footer it won't matter gonna be a disappointing finish to the year In November I would have taken Sweet 16 but this is a win they should have had and Duke/Illinois beatable with a shot at 2 home games in the Final Four

guess I can enjoy the thought of football season until the second Saturday in October

Barnes has done a great job all year, but how he can keep Klotz on the floor, who is killin' Texas offensively, instead of Thomas confuses me.

Klotz clearly didnt have it tonight, why keep going back to him?

oh well, looks like my Xavier bet will win

because Barnes is stubborn

sure could have used Thomas on the defensive glass as well

one thing to keep Klotz in quite another to run a play for him with a minute to go down 3

it probly wouldnt have mattered, because xavier would have made 1 of the last 2 ft's, but barnes is an absolute a$$hole to get a T there, I mean at least with 2 shots, somehow they miss both and u can get the tying 3, with 2 t's also forget it, I think he just didnt wanna shake hands with the other coach, jeezus, thats a stupid t on his part, if they were down 8-10 and it was over fine, but jeez the small hope they had he eliminated, idiot

that was the worst officiated game i have seen in a while....

xavier was allowed to be as physical as they could and pushed all night under the glass....texas would get whistled for blowing on the guy....

absolutely atrocious Texas got screwd....Klotz and Buckman couldn't make a shot because they were getting hung on and pushed all night....

Barnes was absolutely justified....i was just sad he didn't throw a chair on the court...

Freeze the refs were bad but Barnes did a terrible job getting killed on boards and keep thomas on the bench Klotz is awful and plays still were run for him I cannot fathom what that last play was

Glad you brought that up - where was Thomas all game???? 2 minutes for a senior with big game experience. Doesn't make sense to me.

It's the one thing I said all year. The depth is great, but championship teams don't have 11 man rotations. Hard to get any sync, no one a "go to" guy, except Mouton and they were lost without him. Plus, it wouldnt have mattered, but you cannot get T'd up down 3 You still have a shot. Overall Barnes has done a great job, but he was terrible tonight.

I am sorry to say it, but Klotz is a liability. If you hadn't figured that out by now you are just not with it. The guy cannot make a shot outside of the elbow. OSU burned Texas' ass three different times and Klotz had to do with the majority of their game plan. If the man doesn't learn to shoot from 10 feet he will continue to be nothing more than just a body to throw at other teams. Texas already has enough of those "bodies", he needs to separate himself from the others by showing an inside AND outside game. Like it or not, Boddicker is purely an outside threat and what the hell has happened to Buckman since that breakout first year?? With all the talent I see in the paint for Texas you have to wonder about Barnes' coaching ability in regard to getting the most out of his big men. Why isn't this team absolutely dominant down low?? IMO, they sure as hell should be with the players they have. At times this year I have felt that Thomas had to be in Barnes' doghouse. He simply does not get the amount of playing time that a player of his calibre should command. What is the inside scoop on him??

Thomas has had a lower back problem all year. I admit he was not moving well tonight when he was in, but he couldnt have done as poorly as Klotz. Will be interesting to see what Horns do next year with 4 pure stud freshman coming in. What kills me is if TJ Ford stays that is a National title team - heck if you make some effort to get John Lucas you are a National title team. I dont mean to knock OSU, but that guy should have never gotten out of Texas.

I know folks like to bash on Texas and our coaches. I havent had anything negative to say about Barnes before, but he was terrible tonight. Did the team hustle enough or shoot well enough, no. But even a smidge of decent bench coaching wins that game tonight.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. It sure hasn't been publicized all that much about Thomas' back. I have often found myself wondering where he was, several times throughout the season. I just remember from years past how tough he was inside. IMO, just too many weak, white boys playing down there for the 'Horns this year. None of them ever found their role within this team. If it had not been for Texas' inability to find a consistent low post guy, they would be the third Big 12 representative in the Elite Eight.

Guys, Klotz is our best offensive weapon as far as our big men go. Barnes knew the inside game of Xavier was, for the most part, not going to be a factor, so why sacrifice offense for defense that's not necessarily needed? Klotz just had a bad night but he's saved our asses in games where we may have lost without him. It sucks that JT had to go out his senior year in that fashion but his injuries just killed him this year.

That said, I'm fuhking pumped about next year's team. We have the best freshmen class in the nation arriving and finally a point guard that can light it up from anywhere on the court. I didn't expect this team to go this far so it was a good season for the most part.

Go Pokes! :)

i felt sorry for Thomas too....the guy was a great player his first 3 seasons and i remember the guy taking it to Lawrence Roberts every time they matched up

Texas should have still won if the refs would have called any of the fouls down low....seems tehy are wrapped up in the Xavier cinderella story as stupid refs often are....plus half the country hates Texas right now too...

I think Taylor should have gotten more playing time late in the 2nd half when Xavier went into zone...he can break down a defense and also can shoot...great wing player against zones

and i got GREAT respect for Barnes as he went after the refs...something Coach Mack would never do...Barnes showed guts and would sacrifice his "reputation" for his men and that is leadership and that is a guy i would play for...stupid announcers who were rooting for Xavier all night though didn't see it that way....geez does Raftery annoy me

Kenny was a bad matchup for us with defending their guards....just not strong enough....average defender at best.

Plus, he might have had a little "deer in the headlights" tonight. After all, this was KT's first NCAA tourney.

Kenny Taylor's real test will come next year. He will be the starting 2 guard from day one.
