Serious question. How can you tell by looking at someone what area he is from? I saw a guy here at Taco Bell yesterday who had a big black beard, tan skin, and long black hair that was pulled up and covered by a turbin. How do I know if that guy is from India or if he is Iranian/Iraqui/Saudi/Lebanese, etc. Don't both Muslims and Hindus wear turbins? How can you tell the difference as I'll be more at ease if I know somebody is Hindi and not Muslim?

Not trying to be intollerant or racist, but I still get almost scared sh!tless when I see somebody like that. I associate that with suicide killers as my only exposure is seeing that information on TV. I've never known a Muslim in my life. Being frank here with my feelings, but I know if I feel this way, and I'm pretty educated (albeit sheltered somewhat), a whole bunch of other Americans feel the same way. Thanks for your replies ahead of time.

hindus 99% of the time shave. u can cross out lebanese and syrian...my guess is he is a shiat muslim from iran. log beard and turbine match the description very well

It's funny you say that about being apprehensive about Muslims because of their media portrayal. Southerners get the same treatment when it comes to black people. When I told Chioma I was in rural Virginia for the next two weeks she said there was no way she would ever come to visit. The media portrays rural Southerners (who have been great guys from all the ones I have met) as racist hillbillys the same way they portray Muslims as screaming suicide bombers or black ghetto neighborhoods as warzones full of random acts of violence.

Here is a good rule of thumb: you will only see the most extreme idiots of any group on the news. That's why I rarely watch mainstream television news anymore.

anyone have any clue which regions or states are have the most dense "arab" population? (using an all-encompassing term for simplicity)

seems like theyre just as integrated into ohio/michigan society as whites, blacks, and asians.:shrug: so i just dont really give it anything more than a passing thought.

is this part of the country more densely populated by said ethnicity than the rest? hellah?
