Lohse on the hill against Rick Reed. After facing Schilling, Twins should be able to tee off on Reed. I hate laying this much chalk on an exhibition game but Lohse should shut the Pirates down while he's in there.

Got close there in the 9th. Pirates had a man on 3rd with 2 outs and Nathan got the batter to hit into a grounder. Short lasted outing for Lohse, also giving up 3 runs in the 4th. I had to finally order the MLB audio package for today. No way could I wait for each inning to end to find out the score.

Needed that win, back later for the night games.

Hampton vs. Lowe

I'd be carefully playing that big against Derek Lowe, he has been throwing extremely well this spring, actually only one possibility throwing better is Schilling whose spring ERA is just over 1.0, until his last spring start, Lowe s spring ERA was 0.90. True Sox are traveling and lineup is scrambled, but Lowe has really thrown well.

I hear ya sham. I hate going against Lowe but I'm playing on the Braves for the fact that the Sox plan to use a lot of minor leaguers in this game (taking 9 with them) and it's being played at Turner Field. Sox starters will see limited action and who knows, maybe the Braves can get some of that late inning magic against the BoSox relievers like they did against Houston.

watching it on mlbtv right now. definitely not a big fan of Mike Hampton and of course he gives up a 3 run shot in the 1st inning.

btw, what book has totals on these games?
