Since majior fighting was declared over on that air craft carrier. We have lost 434 more killed in action. I guess are intelligence was wrong on that to. Funny how no one is to blame but the intelligence. God bless all our GI's.

Your right Djv, we should just give up and pull everyone out:confused:

We knew lives would be lost, God rest their souls, but in comparsion to other wars this one has been light as far as casualties. Please enlighten me to what we should have done before and after the "war" ended.

Wareagle we have found out we were not needed there in the first place. Now that the truth is out. We didn't have to lose anyone.

So we didn't find any WMD, it was the admins fault to make this our "cause for war". What we knew was he HAD used WMD in the last 10 yrs and he said he WOULD use them again. Sadaam thought he has these weapons after all this is what his scientists and deputies were telling him to keep him apeased. This is what our intel picked up on and that is where all the problems begin. I agree that we went about going in the wrong way, but the cause was just. To expel the regime that HAD used and INTENDED to use WMD. IMO we are much better off without Sadaam, Uday, and Qusay leading Iraq and i am bit confused why you would still like them to be in power and us just sit and watch.

Why not. Ronny Reagan did not. In fact we gave him many weapons at that time. Bush 1 could have finished it but didn't. Clinton didn't. Bush 2 didn't his first 20 months. Then all of a sudden it was important. What a BS job done on most Americans. I rememeber the polls 18 months ago 70/30 it's a must do. Now as the truth comes out its 50/50. And dropping. We were suck-erd. He was no threat. And his army sucked. They cut and ran.

"the bunker"
one more time

one more time

the first gulf war was under u.n. auspices...if the goal had been to remove saddam from power,we`d have had to do it ourselves....much like we did it this time...

even the talking heads get this one wrong....

When this conflict is finally resolved, I wonder what you will have to harp on constantly like you do for Iraq?

The problem at this point is do we leave or not? If we leave then we have destroyed a country and left it's future to be determined by radical religous freaks. If we do not leave we will continously have troops picked off and the country will never obtain stability. Have the Palestianians ever stopped suicide bombings. These kind of tactics will never stop against our soldiers. These religous muslims are animals. I think we should get the soldiers back. This was obviously a major disaster by the BushES.

We should have put more emphasis on fighting terrorism in countries like Yemen and Saudi Arabia then screwing around brutal dictator that would have helped us by keeping these nuts in place. The Bushes were able to lump a war with Iraq into out war on terrorism and this was a major fiasco for several reason but the primary is our complete isolation from the rest of the world - they boo our national anthem in Canada, chant Osama at soccer games in Mexico, and despise us through out Europe.

Pulling out would be the stupidest thing to do now.

How can't that be obvious:confused:

I expect quite a few more casualties especially in next 2 weeks-----but glad to see action taken on the burning and exploitation of US citizens.

I'll side with administration that acts with authority----and let those that are committed to last administrations "run like a rabbitt" tactics on same situation in Somolia, do their critiquing.

Nice to be able to say once again--These colors don't run!!!!!!

DTB the colors dont run and never have. But there still is no excuse for stupitiy. Were duped on WMD. Were now finding out were duped on other info fed to us by those who fled Iraq and wanted back in. So if we had not gone there in the first place we would have lost no one. Let alone just piss off more of the Arab world. We have proved nothing. The tens of thousand Iraqis that were gas. We find were mostley Iran soldiers. All the rapes that were goning on dailey. We find they were no more in numbers then go on right here in the U S. So we go to war over this kind of BS. It seems we get back to Black Gold all the time. Because none of this was a issue big enough for war. If it is then we are in sad shape. We should say the truth. We went to finish Bush 41 and Cheneys war that they failed to finish. And UN resolutions is another poor excuse.
I see we lost 4 more GI's over night. For what? Pieace on earth good will towards men.

WAR do you understand we may have given him the gas back in the 80's. He was are best buddy. We wanted the Irans dead and we didn't care how. We watn Iraq to win that war. We really wanted it to go on another 5 years. It was good for us. Kept Iran busy. We worked closeley with our friends the French to supply Saddam with tons of military goods. And did you see us run over there and try to stop him. No Ronald Reagan looked the other way. If he was so bad a guy why did we stand by and watch. So 15 years later we need to teach him a lesson. BS.

Sorry but I doubt iraq will ever see true democracy.
There has only been ONE TIME, in ALL OF WESTERN HISTORY, that an islamic country has been converted sucessfully to democracy, and that is Algeria. Even now, though, that government is collapsing.

"the bunker"
to be fair

to be fair

and after seeing the mess that is iraq, isn`t anyone else beginning to, at least sort of understand WHY saddam ruled this country with such an iron fist?....

how else could anyone expect to keep all these violent religious factions from tearing the country apart and murdering one another......

saddam may have been a violent despotic dictator....but without saddam,i don`t believe that the minorities in this country would have faired any better...the country very possibly would have been even more oppressive with a lunatic like this guy al-sadr or one of the other fanatical imam`s running the show?

without saddam, this would have been another iran...

can anyone change 1000`s of years of ingrained religious hatred and intolerance and turn this place into some sort of democratic paradise????...a noble undertaking...

i seriously doubt it happens...

DJV-- As long as there are Islam fantics ANYWHERE on earth there will be no "peace on earth"--and you can take that to the bank.

The only choice ANY country has is to take it to them or let them bring it to you.

So far are casualities on there turf in over a year and 2 wars have not come close to their 1 day on our turf.

I still subscribe to the "Walk softly and carry a Big Stick" paradigm. Now is time to use the big stick. The Muslim fanatics hate us so much that remember what they did to the stewardess, (slit her throat), or that f*ckin POS that killed Daniel Pearl on camera- not to mention what happened a few days ago.
They can kill innocent women & children and still go to heaven because they die as martyrs. Too friggin bad we don't make the town of Fallujah Martyr Central. I know that isn't the answer though- I can't understand why we don't use their religion against them-something similar to what BlackJack Pershing came up w/in the Philippines.

"We don't need a 'commission' to find out how 9-11 happened. The truth is in the timeline....In February 1993, the World Trade Center was bombed by Muslim fanatics, killing five people and injuring hundreds. Clinton, advised by Dick Clarke, did nothing. In October 1993, 18 American troops were ! killed in a savage firefight in Somalia. The body of one American was dragged through the streets of Mogadishu as the Somalian hordes cheered. Clinton responded by calling off the hunt for Mohammed Farrah Aidid and ordering our troops home. Osama bin Laden later told ABC News: 'The youth ... realized more than before that the American soldier was a paper tiger and after a few blows ran in defeat.' In November 1995, five Americans were killed and 30 wounded by a car bomb in Saudi Arabia set by Muslim extremists. Clinton, advised by Dick Clarke, did nothing. In June 1996, a U.S. Air Force housing complex in Saudi Arabia was bombed by Muslim extremists. Clinton, advised by Dick Clarke, did nothing. Months later, Saddam attacked the Kurdish-controlled city of Erbil. Clinton, advised by Dick Clarke, lobbed some bombs into Iraq hundreds of miles from Saddam's forces. In November 1997, Iraq refused to allow U.N. weapons inspections to do their jobs and threatened to shoot down a U.S. U-2 spy plane. Clinton, advised by Dick Clarke, did nothing. In February 1998, Clinton threatened to bomb Iraq, but called it off when the United Nations said no. On Aug. 7, 1998, U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania were bombed by Muslim extremists. Clinton, advised by Dick Clarke, did nothing. On Aug. 20, Monica Lewinsky appeared for the second time to testify before the grand jury. Clinton responded by bombing Afghanistan and Sudan, severely damaging a camel and an aspirin factory. On Dec. 16, the House of Representatives prepared to impeach Clinton the next day. Clinton retaliated by ordering major air strikes against Iraq, described by the New York Times as 'by far the largest military action in Iraq since the end of the Gulf War in 1991.' The only time Clinton decided to go to war with anyone in the vicinity of Muslim fanatics was in 1999 -- when Clinton attacked Serbians who were fighting Islamic fanatics. In October 2000, our warship, the USS Cole, was attacked by Muslim extremists. Clinton, advised by Dick Clarke, did nothing. Bush came into office telling his national security adviser, Condoleezza Rice, he was 'tired of swatting flies' -- he wanted to eliminate al-Qaida. On Sept. 11, 2001, when Bush had been in office for barely seven months, 3,000 Americans were murdered in a savage terrorist attack on U.S. soil by Muslim extremists. Since then, Bush has won two wars against countries that harbored Muslim fanatics, captured Saddam Hussein, immobilized Osama bin Laden, destroyed al-Qaida's base, and begun to create the only functioning democracy in the Middle East other than Israel. Democrats opposed it all -- except their phony support for war with Afghanistan, which they immediately complained about and said would be a Vietnam quagmire. And now they claim to be outraged that in the months before 9-11, Bush did not do everything Democrats opposed doing after 9-11. What a surprise." --Ann Coulter
