Update
Record 46-41
-4.80 units
Win %- 53%
Cubs/Reds over 8.5 even- L
1.00 unit to win 1.00 unit
Lidle gives me no reason to believe that he can stay under this number. Wood will just need to let up 1 or 2. Lots of bats on both teams and no bullpens in sight.
Red Sox -140- W
2.03 units to win 1.45 units
I can't understand this line for the life of me. Too much is going into Mussina's history pitching vs the BoSox in this type of match-up. The Yankees are no where near their top form. When they hit their stride we will all know it. But right now they can't hit, field or pitch. Schilling has a chance to show all of Boston what he's about today. He will deliver in front of a raucous crowd. The man always rises up to the occasion and has ice water in his veins. Mussina seems fragile this year, whiny and a bit of a baby. He'll find some excuse after today why he let up runs. Truth is teams are starting to sit on his knuckle curve and adjust to his fastball, which has been up all season.
