Hey Mike. I have used Paypal for about 3 years now and have not had a problem at all. I buy alot sports stuff on ebay and feel very secure in paying by Paypal.

Just give them a credit card number and the charge should be on your monthly statment. You do not have to fund Paypal, just give them your number.

There has been a scam going on where you will get an e-mail that looks like it is from Paypal wanting you to update your account. Delete this as fast as you can. It is a big scam.

thanks fellas, didnt think there was a problem but figured Id ask anyway, in reference to sending paypal payments to someone for an ebay item, do you automatically include shipping in the payment for the thing, or send it separately? also didnt know I guess you contact the seller first and arrange it, glad that paypal works though it's a lot easier than a money order, but what about the fees the receiving person gets for getting the money, is that accounted for? probably stupid a$$ questions but Im somewhat new with some of this crap, thanks

I would never setup paypal with your bank account. CC only, that way u have protection when they screw up. I've had to use my CC protection before with paypal on a dispute I had. Paypal lost, I got my money back, but now paypal has revoked my account until I pay the disputed amount back (will be a cold day in hell when that happens). If I want to use ebay now, I use my folks paypal account.

I've had paypal for 2 years and I have had ONE big problem with them which AMEX had to fix themselves because paypal are a bunch of jack @sses. I wont ever use paypal for any large purchases if I were you. Read there disclaimers or better yet read this site www.paypalsucks.com <--- might appear to be a bs name but it shows how paypal practices are a joke but liek I said i've had one problem with a large purchase and they wont help you with jack ... but for smaller purchases where you can "risk" gettin ripped off its fine.

Yea, this is why I asked, I had heard about problems and I dont have the patience frankly to deal with one, I'd flip my fawkin top and get aggrevated, so I dont know, Im definitely not giving my bank account number, credit card number you can dispute charges at least, I wont put anything more than like 50-75 bucks though, just is not worth it may as well buy it rom sports authority and pay a little more with no hassle( Im looking at jerseys) thanks fellas

i have used ebay/paypal for 3-4 years now. not one problem. the most imporant thing i think is to make sure the seller has been positively rated. if it is a brand new vendor be very careful!!!!!
everyone has to start somewhere, but there are a bunch of thieves out there.

If you are looking at jerseys be very careful of buying any Mitchell & Ness. There are a lot of fakes on ebay.

Thanks for the heads up, yea I know theres tons of fakes, Im not stupid enough to pay $350 for a mitchell and ness jersey and buy it from some clown on there Id buy it right from the manufacturer, Im just looking for regular replicas of a few guys and teams and trying to save a few dollars off buying from like the nba or nfl store, has anyone else noticed on ebay though how it seems people have "e-sniper" programs where they automatically outbid you in like the last 2 minutes of when an auction ends, that sucks
