the bin laden family, not osama, were given free transportation out of the country. i understand that these family memebers are not involved in osama's business, but if i would be running the fbi, i would have had some agents trail these family memebers just to see what they were up to.

But my answer to it is if he would have detained them like he has ordered thousands of others, you would be having kittens becasue it was against their rights to be detained. Or racial profiling or some such nonsense. So it doesn't matter what he did, I'm sure you would spin it to make bush look bad.

Dad Bush was haveing lunch with Bins older brother the day the towers were hit. And yes they were given a free pass as so many Saudis seem to get. Even tho the money trail goes through Saudi.
You talk about a few folks that should have been question and held. I do hope the 9/11 commission that is more or less useless asked a few question on how that all came about. Be Better questions then who new what when. Who cared to pay attetion because no one was anyway. Of course other then the CIA who seemed to know a lot.

Agree AR182. Osama has what-52 brothers & sisters?, but I think this is the part where the FBI/CIA p*ssing contest came into play- i.e., they wouldn't work together.
Besides if it ever came to light someone would bring up Racial Profiling, the Japanese Internment of WW2, Harassment, etc.

who would've authorized the special permission at that very confusing time....Why did the bin Ladens know that they should leave...I doubt that Osama was connected to the crime very early.....Did they indeed have inside info that hanging around would be dangerous to someone with that last name....

Although I am a moderate, I thought I wound reply to this thread. This apparently very close connection between the Saudi's, Bin Laden's family, and the Bush family may add credence to the Woodward statement based upon the interview with Bush that the Saudi's will manipulate the price of oil in an effort to ensure Bush's re-election.

Doesn't it bother anyone else that we are now paying the highest gas prices of recent years, they apparently will drop in the fall, and everybody will be feeling good so that Georgie boy gets re-elected. Sounds like the current high prices have also been manipulated by some lets-get-Georgie-elected group made up of Bush family members in concert with Saudis.

And you guys got mad when Clinton had Chinese in the Lincoln bedroom. I'd rather have Chanmans cousin wacking off in the Lincoln bedroom than making deals with the family of the man who organized 9-11. The funny thing about this though is that moderates, like myself, and liberals will not scream about it like talk radio did with the Chinese scandal of the prior administration.

We realize it is politics as usual. We won't harp on it ad nauseum like we still hear Clintons name brought up on a daily basis on talk radio identifying any little faux pas that happened years ago (in addition to the bj, his responsibility for 9-11, etc.) Thats a big difference between the right and the left. The right just can't let go.

This thread is a great testimony to how out of touch some people are. I'm sure it's not just Wilson that thinks that there are people out there that would actually negotiate with Bin Laden. That's sad.

I would be shocked beyond belief if even nuts like Michael Moore or Al Franken would advocate taking any 'deal' from him. No way.

Once again, certain people equate oppostion to the fruitless occupation of Iraq to being weak on Al-Queda. One has nothing to do with another.
