I would like to get into a little gambling here and there. Unfortunately I don't personally know anyone that shares as much love for sports as I do, and don't have anyone that can teach me the ins and outs of betting. I would appreciate it if someone could "tutor" me on the basics.

I'm mainly interested in football betting, but baseball and basketball are also something I would like to mess around with every once in a while.

BTW -- If you don't know where to start, start the the basics. I don't even know where to bet or the 'lingo.'

TIA

Yela,

Are you now or have ever been affiliated with any federal, state, or local law enforcement agency?...

Is there a link to a thread, or a website that covers the common sports betting terms? Also, what are the best online betting sites? Is there anyway to get around playing with a credit card (my CC is maxed out, I wanna pay it off and trash it.)

Mr. Georgia Tech fan-

If you're being serious, use Neteller or Western Union. That avoids CC's.

First off, trash the card now, and pay it off.

Secondly, if you are in debt, don't even think about gambling.

I agree with yyz. If your cc is maxed out you have no business gambling. Get your house in order before you even think about risking money that you're most likely going to lose.
Try posting a pick a day in the daily POD. See how you make out.
covers.com has a lot of good info on their site.
