I really don't like to play a team who is going for a sweep ,even less when the team they are playing has off not much pitching but can explode at anytime for dd runs, but ben Sheets is healthy for really the first time in his short pro stint, he is back to the guy who did it for team usa. I think he goes under the wire a lot of times because of his little knicks the last few years and he plays for the brewers who i must say are playing each game for the most part the whole nine unlike the last few years so i am taking a shot with him at ev money not a big play but still think he and matt clement are 2 of the most under rated young pitchers out their at times, these 2 guys have great movement and have alittle gitty-up behind their pitches and like i said great movement and change the eye level of the hitter and that is the most importent thing as a pitcher being able to have good movement and change the plain of the batters eye, and for clement he is just wild enough to keep you from digging in he will have some walks but also as a hitter you will never feel at ease in the box, it really sucks to catch a guy like him also lot of shifting to the pitch which makes it hard to frame with little glove movement but like i said it also keeps the hitter on his back side, Sheets has more control but has just as much juice and movement and can hit the corner , these 2 are in my tops as young pitchers. Would like to see sheets go longer then yost lets him but it is all about protecting a great young arm.

Will this play win hell i don't know if i knew things like that i would only have to play 1 or 2 games a year and be set for life but i do know these 2 young pitchers will be good money for years to come if the stay away from the dl. Not a set up i like but i will ride these 2 all year as i have been and at the end of the year i am sure I will be in the + with these 2 guys.

Small play 1 unit more because of the set up not the pitcher himself. if it was 1-1 in the series i would have a bigger play on him.

Good Luck

Eric

well Sheets will not get the win but he did have another Q start, pitched very well made 1 mistake and another hr was hit off of a good pitch, just got no off help . clement is throwing a great game if you stick with these 2 pitchers if healthy you will win money, just because you pitch good does not always mean you will get the win. part of baseball and i will tell you a big problem of the yanks i coached and played long enough to know and knew it from the start. on a team you know everyone in a upper D1 and pro ball can take the ball out of the park but from 2-8 you don't want a team who can all hit 30 + homeruns the reason for this is because 1 a coach manager or coach is not going to play small ball as much and IMO that is a key part of the game asking a hitter to give himself up to help the team, and when you have as many power hitting big names as they have they as hitters do not and will not and can not give themself up like a reg pro player it takes 4-5 good hitters with power from 4 and the rest of your team needs to be guys who can do the job that needs done when they are up with runners on. You can't live by the long ball day in and day out tried it as a coach it does not work have to have guys who will give up a at bat to move runner along and need to have speed and hit and run or at least have teams think you might just as a thought or guys who will run, yanks won;t run because looking for the long ball to much. they will pick it up only 18-19 games in but the game is won by pitching and deff at the higher up level and yanks are poor in both, hitting is key but not #1 factor it is 3rd and that is just plain fact, good pitching and deff will shut down power hitting teams almost 55% of the time so they need to start thinking about being a team player and give up a at bat, they are 2 for 22 on sacs with less the 2 outs with a runner at 3rd that flat out sucks and is the problem of a power hitter not willing to give up a at bat for his team, they also need 3 arms which i think they will get but batting and batters need to rethink their job.

I agree eric, Ive liked clement for a few yrs, has great stuff. Yanks will get it together, their pitchings a little weaker than the past, and you're right the lineup doesnt have guys who can do the little things, all of them swing for the fences, posada sheff giambi only guys who do the little things are jeter and he is not hitting so far, long season though, thx for the headsup on clement and sheets though confirmed what I knew in that clement has nasty stuff and a good sinker when he is on and he is ok mentally and not losing his head out there
