How long will it take for WSEX to post any western union wire? What does it cost? Is it a good way? Thanks

i use W/U with WSE...never had a problem and still dont to this day...after u give them confirmation ## it takes maybe a half hour and they cover the charge anything over 500.00...

I hope WU is still going to allow us to fund offshore.
Reading about 5dimes has me kinda concerned. You send the money in a name of a person. If they are starting to question who the person is your sending it to that gives me cause for concern. Hope not as its all I have used to fund with Oly in the past two years.

Fortunately I havnt had to send any money to Oly for over 6 months now. Got money out twice by check with no problem.
But in a previous thread about WU I stated that when I was sending it at the counter the lady questioned me about having a good friend there and if they liked living there. She just seemed like she was suspicsious of the receiver.
The next time I fund it I am going to call them and ask them if they are having any problems with WU transfers. I am also only going to send 200 bucks first to try it. And then I will go to a differant WU office each time.
Let me know if you have any trouble.

Shame on me I guess...I am currently going through this f#cking situation now. WU has $1000 they will not release to me, 5 Dimes, or anyone else for that matter and told me they could hold my money "indefinitely". I have used WU for years and am a preferred customer. However, this does not matter to them.
Oh by the way...I sent the money to Jose Contreras. WU wants his date of birth, place of birth, and full name. I asked them how in the hell I was supposed to ask him when he is currently on the mound pitching against the Red Sox!
I try to joke but I am seriously pissed...F*CK Western Union!!!!

Having the same problems, tonight I tried to send a western union to 5dimes.
I got an email notice to call them, and they were asking all kinds of questions, so finally I just said cancel it. of course the 2 games won fairly easily, so it's my loss

I hope that it is just 5dimes that was causing the trouble. If they had given out the wrong name to send to and the account was not there on the receiving end, I can see the problem.
WU collects their 55 dollars. They should just mind their own business. They change the names every day or something.
Anyone knows of any trouble with WU please chime in.

Yep, I had one helluva time with WU last week. It took several phone calls and three hours to complete the transaction with 5Dimes. After things had been straightened out, the supervisor I was talking with back and forth claimed this was the first time this had happened. Needless to say, I objected and emailed her a copy of the MJ thread.
In the end, the reason I will never use WU again is the fact that they would not release the money back to me. I was told they could hold my money "indefinitely". This is not acceptable to say the least. I gave them the receivers full name, date of birth, place of birth, home address, home telephone number, and his Venezuelan id number...and then had them delete my preferred customer account.
My best advice if you use them would be to make sure the receiver is a woman with a non-hispanic name.
