Watching him on charlie rose and dont really know what to think about him. He is kind of quirky but so are his films. He seems to be very talented but then again I dont really know that much about directors..............just like to hear others thoughts.

imho, he has put out 1 good film, and that was his first, "Reservoir Dogs". I thought all the others sucked. I know I'm in the minority about Pulp Fiction, but I honestly couldn't even get through 40 minutes of that movie before I stopped it, rewound, and took it back to Blockbuster.

I just saw his new movie "kill Bill"..
Man, this movie is really bad. I mean, I can see how people might like these types, just to be different,,but, this was one of the worst movies you can imagine.
I don't know how he gets a studio deal.

enjoyed watching Resvoir dogs (still his best), pulp fiction, True Romance (was better at the theatres, there is a fight scence in the hotel that was cut out of the directors cut)....very sappy dumb ending. probably the studio wanted it that way, I mean cannot end every movie with everyone dead.....

never saw Jackie Brown, someday.
liked Kill Bill 1 have not seen the second one.

he gets studio deals because his movies make money, simple as that, most movies do not. Just look at the most recent releases and count up the lost money in most cases.

Kill Bill 1 and two will easily make over $100 million profit for the studios counting DVD sales...maybe more.

saw an interview he did and could not understand what he was talking about.

thanks

One of the most creative directors of our time.. A lot of people say his movies are "bad" but they have no idea of the points he is trying to get across or what he is doing..

I really enjoy all of his movies and hope he continues the good work!

I think edgy would be an understatement to describe him. I don't think I would want to "hang out" with him (I'm sure he would feel the same). He did another movie about weird things going on in these rooms on a hotel. Can't remember the name...anyone know it?

Yeah, it's called art,,,everything we do is art!
I don't like this particular piece of art,,but I do like creativity and movies that are great pieces of art.
Hell, I could splatter paint on a wall and just because it is wierd there will be some staring at it trying to figure out what I am trying to express.

I think he is a talented if odd dude.

IMHO

Reservoir Dogs ... very good

True Romance ... very good ... possibly my favorite of his movies actually

Pulp Fiction ... very good

Jackie Brown ... mediocre

Four Rooms ... unwatchable ... it sucked balls but the concept was different

Kill Bill ... have not seen yet as the previews did not impress me at all

Kill Bill Vol 2 ... I will probably rent Kill Bill and then determine whether or not to see this or rent it

His films definitely have an edge and they do make money.
