in the pennsylvania republican primary for us senate i took arlen specter to beat pat toomey at a great price. the primary is tuesday 4/27. this race is not as close at they are predicting. specter has the support of bush and santorum, and will prevail come tuesday.

republicans know if they want bush to win pennsylvania in november, specter is the key. they already have one conservative repub. in santorum, they don't need another in toomey.

Toomey Concedes To Specter

It was predicted to be a tight race, and that's exactly what it was.

Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter has moved a step closer to a fifth term, narrowly defeating Rep. Pat Toomey in the Republican primary.

Toomey had been written off recently, but surged in the polls after casting the moderate Specter as too liberal.

The primary was considered the best chance a challenger had at knocking off a Senate incumbent this season. Republicans had been worried that a Specter loss would eventually cost them Senate control.
