Congrats to all who had SmartyJones yesterday, I had Lion Heart huge and initially as I watched the race run I wanted to choke a few grand out of Lion Heart's jockey Mike Smith as there was no need to use up as much horse as he did going down the backstretch, he could have saved alot of energy and had more left for the stretch run. It's very disapointing to have the race take shape exactly like you think it will only to have poor decisions by the rider or trainer ruin you, but after watching the race another dozen times or so I am not sure Mike Smith could have done enough to hold off the eventual winner, he certainly could have done more, but I am not convinced there was enough possible to make the difference, clearly I was beaten by a better horse.
Congrat to SmartyJones and his backers.

Second again, huh. Just like last summer with the Phillie fillies. Ya know, on Friday and Saturday I bet 5 races (Oaks, Derby, and 3 others). I had the winner in 4 of them. I did not cash one ticket. I going to go back on the wagon.

Well, you were right on with the pace scenario. I didn't think Smith did that bad of a job?

This looks like a pretty cheap bunch to me.....Running time 2:04??
I just can't imagine using Smarty Jones in the same context of Secretariat, Seattle Slew or Affirmed, but it just may happen?

I hope you're right Lucky......For some reason, I just don't think this Smarty Jones is as good as everyone is saying.
I see now too that Beyer is bragging up Imperialism for whatever that's worth?

i dont like either horse, one was crawling home and the other passed some horses that could not catch the crawling home horse.
