K ask your dad if you talk to him and see if he heard of this, I have my ms in OT and i looked in all my old books at home and did not find anything that would relate, but by the time i would do what i did for only a very few years inbetween coaching was after the fact and teaching life living skills and adaption to them and most OT work i was around was adapting after a stroke and some time think 3 in my time guillenbere(sp) no book to help me with spelling all back home and a few head injuries but most stroke recovery. I would like to know more, also a big problem he quit college last seamester and when he dropped out that kicked him off his parents ins. and now that is a big fight to get on the fast list, but clevland clinic took him and have him, but getting the organ is a whole nother story. it is all about the cash and something like this takes a lot a very lot, and if ins. does not take him because he drooped out for a seamester because he was not feeling right i don't think he will get the organ with out one hell of a up front fee, any thoughts would really help the family, i think they were doing medicare papers today but that is like shit, and tons of red tape, it is said when money is first on a person so young, really said for anyone in the us, spend it on war but not health, never thought i would be pissed at that but when it hits home then your eys open up, would like input from your dad and anyone else in med field , call me if you need to collect anyone with a plan. jack has my number, i and our family would be greatful, we and they are far from poor but the price tag is unfreaking real. sad very sad never thought about it till it hits home and now i wonder how many other familes go through shit like this where it is really life or death all hindgeing on cash or ins.

AT thanks I worked with gb people in Ot he does not have that, his heart is due to a vireal infection, but thanks if you come up with something on that would help i am sure, at this point #1 is about ins and money for the organ # 2 as said as it is is if you have the right money then they look for the heart, but thanks for your info.

Hello Fletch, I just talked with my father and in summary he told me this: A lot of vyruses can atack the heart, not directly just like a chain of problems, but that happens when they go into the system, and then they are systemic vyruses, and happens when somebody is Inmunodepressive, physical or just mentally depressive, thats the way the vyrus attack the system and go to the heart, almost all the time the vyrus affect the valvs of the heart and a lot of more times the heart increase their size, and all the big hearts are very prone to this thinks, you now, the athletes heart, genetic big heart or in this case just the pathological situation with a vyrus affecting and making big the heart!! No much solutions, maybe just the transplant, and of cours He tell me aren't easy to find, we haven't a fabric to produce it, we just have to wait for our heart or pay, beacause a lot of younger boys/girls die because they have not money to pay it!! He remember me a movie were Denzel Washington is the father of a kid with a heart problem and thats our truth!!

sorry man, it's all I can say!!

and I forgot the name of the different kind of vyruses!!!! if you really want the names tell me, even a flu is very dangerous if you are very depressed, all people if is gotten depressed should eat to eliminate the posibility of this to happen, he also ask me if the boy had fever before the hospitalization.

good luck

Javier :D

P.S. I hope you understand me! :)

Fletch....Bet on Coxsackie B. Most likely and quite prevalent. Most of the time just gives a cold, but does have an affinity for heart tissue. In rare cases, such as this, it causes a diffuse cardiomyopathy ($10 word for killing heart muscle cells) and can lead to dilatation of ventricles to the point of making the muscle useless. Picture a sock after you've worn it. It stretches from cell death and cannot return to baseline where it pumps effectively. Also kind of like an uncocked punch. Very bad luck. As you know, not curable. Send an address and I'll help if I can. Cleveland Clinic as good as you will find for transplant.:( :(

Thanks guys. Jerri is flying in thur insted of me for 2 weeks i just got back and then I will go back when she get back here. he had like a flu type thing for over 3-4 months over the winter then about a month or so ago he had trouble breathing and then passed out coded 3 times to wvu med center and twice there, they ran all these test and his heart was almost 3-4 times bigger then should be and working at 10% had a pace maker put in to get him to clev and they got 2 wires in and had to stop because he was having problems with breathing and fluid was filling the lungs, had to stop wait 3 days and put the other wire in. just messed up and never really thought that something like this could happen to a young person in great shape . I guess you just never know, but glad jerri is going because i really need the rest been along 3.5 weeks on me at the hospital almost everyday, and could go in for like 15 mins at a time in ccu so it made for long days on all of us,i was there the most because i really don't have a job where I have to be in office 9 till 5, I can work from anywhere. If i have any thing i will ask really hate asking his mom and dad much unless they tell me or my dad because they are just ripped apart right now and they have good money but with him getting dropped from their ins. due to taking a semester off because he missed so many classes makes it that much harder to get him on transplant list, they are still fighting with ins. company and also trying medicare or caide one of those as a back up but we all know how that is in the us very poor. Only time will tell. Thanks for all the feed back.

BA will let you know when i am going up there to stay with him.

Thanks again to everyone for help might need more later if so will ask for ideas, thanks very much I mean that.
