I didnt even see the game, but seeing the stats, is a little weird score to me, almost even in all the stats, the difference was the Ft's stats, mmm.... I was picking up my girlfriend in the airport, she just arrived to town and I didn't even place a bet, because the time wasn't enough, well, for what I am reading and looking to me is a big rebound for the lakers in the game 2, or they will be ready to die!! personally, not just because I am a laker fan I think they will come back strong Tuesday, the players are pissed off, and coach is very quiet and thinking, Detroit emotion is a very scaring factor, but the Lakers will be ready to give them a blowout. Sincerely I am in HUGE DOUBT the lakers win this playoffs, just because they lose the first one at home, Again, i didnt see the game, I am just talking for what I see on stats and writes!! The key here is Payton and Malone can show they wants to win!! that's all, they should show up for success, Kobe and Shaq cannot do it bye themself and just a team can beat this Detroit team!! lets see lets see!!!

Any comment or thought about the game will be appreciate it, because I just seat here in my computer to see what happened and that was a Lakers loss and Detoit win! :D

They can want to win all they like, but fact is that GP was a total non-factor. Billups played great D on him and hit a couple of BIG timely 3's.
If Malone couldn't stand up and score in this game with Rasheed basically sitting out the entire first half, then things don't look that good for him either.
He refuses to take it to the basket and will keep settling for that mid-range stupid looking jump-shot of his.

He was a huge reason I like Detroit to win this thing.
During the season LA won by 5 @ home and lost by 10 away (to Detroit). Malone was a big factor shooting 19 and 20 points. That was before Detroit got Rasheed.

As I said, even today with Rasheed out of the line-up for BIG minutes he still struggled.

Today it was Shaq or nothing. Kobe was forced into taking TOUGH shots, and no-one else looked like scoring.
.....But I'm not naive enough to think that will be the case for the rest of the series.

tbh, I do think LA will win next game, but I wouldn't be leaping on them to cover that -8.

The reason why the FT stats were different was that Detroit took it to the basket all night running circles around defenders that didn't have the footspeed to cover their opponents (Malone, Payton, Medvedenko, Fox, Fisher, etc.). The Pistons DID NOT foul the Lakers and the Lakers took basically only jump shots outside of Shaq's uncontested shots down low.

THE OFFICIATING WAS NOT A FACTOR.

If you didnt see the game, why the hell are you commenting on it, especially with your big Laker logo next to you name.

By the way, it doesnt matter how much Payton and Malone want to win. It doesnt change the fact they stink like open arse and have all year and all playoffs. Everyone gets all excited when they do ANYTHING. These two guys are broken, plain and simple.

The sooner everyone realizes that this Laker team ISNT VERY GOOD and that the WESTERN CONFERENCE wasnt nearly as dominant, especially AT THE TOP, they will stop wasting their money.

Everyone keeps talking about how great the Spurs were. THIS YEARS SPURS team had a small NUTSACK, and that was basically their big asset last year. Teams with Turkoglu, Nesterocrap, and Tony "fragile as can be" Parker (no one to bail out his minutes this year) will have trouble winning in crucnch time.

The power balance is shifting folks, whether the Pistons win this or not.

The East is younger (Lebron, whole Pacers team, Pistons) and has more young talent than the West, and everything in sports goes in cycles.

Did the line just come out as you were walking out the door to the airport?

I love seeing quotes all over the net like "Lakers will come out REALLY ready to play for G2" and "they were just flat for G1"..no they weren't flat....they were flat outplayed!...this thing was setup last week as everyone commented how terrible the East Conference is...people gave the Lakers the championship at that point! Pistons better at 3 of 5 positions, have a younger more athletic squad, are better defensively, are deeper off the bench...heck, for my money, even have a better coach...throw in the fact they were the hottest team in the nba at season's end...gotta love all these factors and still see +550 before G1 tipoff...tread lightly with a g2 bet...if you didn't see the game, Pistons left a lot of baskets on the floor last night....and still won by DD...Fakers in a world of trouble here...

MrChristo :
yes, R Wallace is a big factor here, even without him they won, Detroit is a team, and that's the difference! :D

Bombs :
I comment because I want, and so what, I am not saying anything that implies I am acting like wiseass, I am just commenting and asking for info.
In the other hand we have this thing about GP and KM, mmm.. I do not expect a stars kind of game from them, I and I think everybody should expects for them a rola player kind of game, just like David Robinson did, lakers need them to play, not to be frustrated and that's it, I concur with KM is playing like sissy throwing jump shot and not attacking the rim, buth what the heck can I do!! and of course, is the first game, again I will say I really doubt lakers can win this series, but they are not done yet!!!

ezpickin :
mmmM... I do not like to bet hours before the tip-off, I just my way to go, and girlfriend implied clean and a lot of thing to do all day! about the lakers and all that, I am not saying they will come back, I am saying is all or nothing to them, if they let the Tuesday game go, they are done, and just because they lost the first one, that do not say they are going to lose the series, but we'll see, I need to see a lot and read and hear some comments. What I saw in some declarations the lakers were frustated, specially Shaq against the team and coach.

Thanks for the comments, feedback or bad blood :D all welcome, and I am ready to more! :D

JUST INFO!!!

Last night and this series reminds me a lot of the lakers-philly series about 3 years ago.
Lakers lost the first game at home and then pounded the sixers for the next 4 games.
This is the fifth time the Lakers have lost Game 1 of the NBA Finals at home. The bad news for Detroit: L.A. has gone on to win the championship in each of the previous four occurences, including the 2001 Finals against Larry Brown's Philadelphia 76ers. Only once, after those previous four Game 1 losses in the Finals, did the Game 1 winner take the Lakers to seven games: Detroit in 1988. The three other times it happened, L.A. went on to win the next four games.
The Pistons are good, but we all know the Lakers are more talented. The Pistons leave it all on the floor, the Lakers whine and are a bunch of head cases. But, expect a completely different preformance from the Lakers in Game 2.

This does not remind me at ALL of that Sixer series, and I am a big Sixer fan. First of all, the Pistons are MUCH, MUCH better than that Sixer team was and poses mismatches at 3 of the 5 positions on the floor. Second of all, they are much better defensively. Third, if you remember, the Sixers had games 2 and 3 in their grasp late and let them slip away.

After watching the Spurs, Kings and the T-Wolves..........I challenge anyone to tell me these teams even pretended to play defense.

I remember watching the Spurs, playing game 6, an elimination game for them and they let the Lakers score like 20 possessions in a row.

well i watched game one from start to finish and it wasa thing of beauty. detroit out played, out husteled and out thought LA...game two could be a replay. i will not bet a penny on la this series, only $$ on detroit (ie. quarters, halfs and game or ML)

LA does not have a chance to win this series. they may sneak out a game or two, but thats it!!!

You guy just want to do fire of the fallen tree, by the way very classy from you!! If you said I have just biased comments just because I am with that team, than You all are biased too in your comments just because hate, so calm down and wait and enjoy this great NBA finals, I do not doubt you all later come and say the whistles were for lakers and all that silly crap, but I hope that do not be a factor in this series!

You all know Detroit Excecute very very good, almost excelent, so let's see what happens in the series, and Maverick I know enough of basketball to win money on them and to enjoy the sport, I played since I was a kid, some back problems caused that I left the Football and Basketball trainings, not a good fvcking story, but I know how it feels, and I know how to play it and understand the game.
