Fouls called by team from the 10:22 mark of the 3rd quarter when the Lakers got the lead to double digits until just over a minute to play in regulation when the Pistons went up 5 (roughly 21 minutes of basketball).

Against the Lakers 15
Against the Pistons 4

During that stretch the Pistons attempted 20 (making 17) freethrows to the Lakers 6 (making 3).

Something to consider.

Pistons blowing by, taking ball to the basket at will. Lakers grabbing on every play. If anything, I thought the officiating favored the Lakers, especially in the first half.

only bad non call i really saw after rewatching tape

only bad non call i really saw after rewatching tape

was Shaq clearing ben wallace out for his huge 3 pt play that ultimately made Kobe's shot meaningful ... IF LA leads at that point in game refs prob call it against LA ... trust me, I have been victim of the old, who's behind gets the calls in HS hoops for 20 some years (but im paranoid too since we usually have lead ;))

I think Pistons get majority of the calls because the Laker players are not as athletic and sometimes use there arms to play defense instead of moving the body. However, everytime Shaq gets an offensive foul it is bogus. I will never understand it. Shaq never should been called OF against Wallace late in 4th like that.

I also remember hearing that the road teams generally get to the free throw line more than home teams. Found that interesting.

So far in this series Pistons have benefited greatly from the free throw line, especially Billups.

That push in the back by Shaq to get the rebound led to his 3-point play. If Shaq had 4 fouls or less at the time, guaranteed he gets called. However, he had 5 fouls and the refs won't call a 6th foul on Shaq on something like that. Lakers can't play D Scott4USC, I can't wait to see who plays the 4 if Malone is unable to go or is ineffective.
