This story has been bantered about on talk radio this week. I found it quite interesting and amusing to see Ron Jr.'s impression of President Bush.

""Sure, he wasn't a technocrat like Clinton. But my father was a man -- that's the difference between him and Bush. To paraphrase Jack Palance, my father crapped bigger ones than George Bush."

I think Ron Jr. standing up for his father is commendable.

This particular quote is a bit harsh in tone and his father might not have liked it aired in the media (although he did enjoy a good anecdote or joke). The article in whole was a good read. Reagan Sr would not like some of the politics the current administration has taken. They could learn alot from the actions and tone he had set during his Presidency.

????

????

slim...wasn`t that was ron jr.`s quote...not ron sr......what did you mean,"he was taking up for his father?"....

reagan jr and reagan sr are polar opposites...ron jr is an unabashed liberal...

who would know how reagan would feel about bush`s policies?....ron sr has been incapacitated for years...

It is sad when one must resort to namecalling in a forum simply because something has been posted with which you disagree. I enjoy discussion and debate however I won't waste time having a battle of wits with an unarmed person.

I posted this because it seems that the media and the Republican spindoctors are indicating that Bush is continuing Reagan's philosophy and legacy. I believe that using a terribly sad circumstance to promote any political agenda is just plain wrong. If that makes me an idiot, so be it.

Isn't that what Ron Jr is now doing?

My favorite line is Reagan says his mother shares his "distrust of some of these [Bush] people. She gets that they're trouble in all kinds of ways. She doesn't like their religious fervor, their aggression."

Seeing as we are fighting Al Queda I see what you mean.

Ron Jr. isn't using his father's death to promote anything. That article was from April, not this week.

The Bush administration is desperately trying to attach their actions and name to historical legacies (ie. WWII, Reagan, etc.) Trying to win votes from the ignorant.
