YTD 62-40 (+2292)
Tues 2-0 (+245)
Busy as hell today, but I looked these over last night and will get them in over lunch:
DETROIT TIGERS (+157) Again, I thought this line would be a little lower, so I am going to jump on it. Mike Maroth finally got another win in his last outing versus the Braves, and has pitched fairly consistently over the season, and his numbers are very comparable to his opponent tonight in Brett Myers. However, Myers was roughed up in his last start in Minnesota, and threw a lot of pitches. It will be interesting to see how far he can go tonight, and with the Tigers having won 5 of their last 6 and swinging the bats well, a troubled Phillies pitching staff could be staring at more trouble here tonight.
CINCINNATI REDS (-154) Ah, "Home Sweet Home"......The Reds returned to their winning ways last night with a nice come from behind win in their first game back in Cincinnati after a long road trip. The Reds are 19-10 at home this year, and tonight's pitcher, Paul Wilson, is even more impressive at home, sporting a 4-0 record and a puny 1.29 ERA. He has been solid all year, but should he suffer a bit of a letdown tonight, I still see the Reds putting up some runs against a Ranger team that may be a little disheartened after last night's loss and are sending an inexperienced pitcher to the mound in place of the injured Dominguez.
ANGELS / PIRATES over 9.5 (-102) One thing scares me about this play - I haven't had much success betting totals. However, some of the numbers here are staggering: John Lackey's ERA on the road this season is 7.99 and Josh Fogg's ERA at home this year is 6.38. I also like the fact that this Angel lineup can be extremely explosive and although the Pirates have had trouble scoring runs the last few games, they have faced the following starters in those games: Kenny Rogers, Tim Hudson, Mark Mulder and Jarrod Washburn....I don't think John Lackey can bring that kind of stuff to the table tonight. Also, this started at +106 last night, but has since been bet down to -102, so some money is starting to come this way.
Well, half way home for the week....Back to the grind.
Good Luck tonight,
Sharky
