Thursday Bases 6/17/04

Thursday looks like it will be hectic at the office, so I am getting this in for right now. I am also looking at a couple more, and may add at lunch, but just one for now. No totals. :nono:

OAKLAND ATHLETICS (-127) Playing the A's to avoid the sweep at Busch stadium with Tim Hudson on the mound. Hudson has been solid all year, posting a 7-2 record with a 2.80 ERA, and is sporting a 1.13 ERA in his last three outings. I also like the play against Suppan, who, although has been consistent of late, is 2-5 in his career versus Oakland, and is only 1-5 with a 5.09 ERA at home this year.

I think I will definitely be playing the Red Sox tomorrow as well if they end up losing again tonight. Both pitchers struggling, but I can't see Boston getting swept. I like the over 13 as well, but I've sworn off those for a while. Otherwise, I don't see a whole lot that I like, and I'm not real fussy on laying too much chalk, but we'll see.....

We're getting closer to Friday........

Might take detroit twice tomorrow, if they win one you are positive for the day, two would be a bonus.

Maybe oak st louis under, both pitchers throwing well.

Any more soccer plays --- I'm thinking France today. Lot of chalk but in my opinion they are the best team in the world.

What a nut house at work.....Not much time for write-ups, but adding a couple more for this afternoon:

BOSTON RED SOX (-147) I decided last night that the BoSox would not be swept today and still think that. Although Coors probably isn't the place for Lowe to get things on track, this Cook isn't anything to write home about, and I just feel Boston is the far superior team here and are out for blood.

SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS (+115) The Jays are beat up, and last night put out a batting order that did not sport a .300 hitter. Dave Berg was hitting lead off at a nifty .156. They were terrible last night and just looked like they've had the life sucked right out of them. I don't think the good Doc can even help them today. I'm not a Hermansson fan by any stretch of the imagination, but Jays are outclassed right now.

Good Luck Sharky. Lowe had a real good outing last time out, need a repeat today and the Bats to come alive. Hope to see Pokey at 2nd today and Nomar to quiet some of his critics with some solid offense. This team has too good of a line up to be shutdown by Colorado pitching. These 2 bullpens are'nt even close. Let's get em today.
Also like Oak and Hudson today and may take a shot with Cubbies if all goes well early. Oswalt has not impressed me,especially as a 200 fav.
