Well the saga continues, After having this TV for about a week or so I noticed some irregularities in the picture and couldn't get it fixed to my satisfaction, so I invoked my 30 day money back guarantee and had it picked up and got my money back.

Worked out great because I was able to get a 60 inch LCD technology Sony instead and only paid a couple hundred more, for much more TV IMO.

Fantastic picture, like being in a theatre. Should have known to stay with Sony, I had a 36 inch (still have it in bedroom) sony tube for the last 12 years and never a problem, not one and it still has a great picture.

Chop I think that is a regular type tech rear projection, they have been improved but still usr crt technology and the set is still quite bulky. If I remember right it should sell for about $1700 to $1900
depending on specials being run.

Very good TV, but with the newer tech out their it comes to a choice of what you want to spend.

My 60 in is only 17.5 inches deep and sets on a stand not needing all the underneath room for the projection on the type your looking at. My 60 inch ran $3499 after some special store rebate.

The TV your looking at has a great picture just older technology, make sure it is HD ready. Hope this helped.

AR it is in our family room, the wall it is on is 11.5 ft across, we have an entertainment center that take the whole wall with the tv fitting nicely in it. Made esp for this make and model.

Anytime your in the So Cal area you are all more than welcome to catch a game.

2 months and counting:D

Not a fan of the Toshiba's myself. Personally I found Sony and Samsung pictures to be a cut above the rest. Just out of curiousity, what problem did you have with the Samsung? I too am in the TV market, looking at getting a 43" set at the minimum...50"+ more than likely.

That was the first one I had, but sent back. Think it was just a bad tv as I have also heard Samsung was pretty good.

GM, Mine kept like a wavy lines at the end sides of the picture, also on analog channels, it look a little blurry, just not crystal clear.

I had Adelphia our cable provider come out and they fiddle with it but I said hell with it, paying this much money even when they said it was all right, in the back of my mind, I didn't think it was. Coupled with the fact that Sony had been my first choice until this deal had come along on the Samsung.

Chop, I would go with Panasonic from what I have heard over the Hitachi or Toshiba, but to be honest a friend of mine has had a Toshiba for over a year and seems to love it.

Hell I've looked at so many TV's the last couple of months my head starts spinning just thinking about it. One thing I was told no matter where I went or who I talked to, they all said to stay away from Plasmas until the price comes down. Said it was way too much to pay for something that hasn't had a chance to see what it will do over a long period of time.

Hope this helps

Samsung's new Gen 3 DLP is far superior to any other DLP on the market.

I would rate Sony as one of the weaker makes in terms of DLP/LCD technology. Sony is great for tubes, and that's about it.
