Well said Kosar. And those who get my vote earn it. I do not march in step for these parties that claim you do not need to ask questions. And how the heck did we get to Sudan. Were not doen with all other neat things we got going.

"If there has to be a bloodbath then let's get it over with."

so there are no liberals posting in this forum?? LMMFAO!

I have learned a lot from liberals over the years and like to try to see all sides of an issue. I consider and label myself conservative, but I certainly make up my own mind about issues and see all viewpoints. I'm a registered Democrat, and I vote in the primaries. I have never voted a straight party ticket in my life. I vote for the candidate that is closest to my views or against the candidate that is most contrary to me.

I can find several things about the GW administration that I think are wrong and I am critical of.

I still say it's laughable that Eddie, Kosar, Hoops, and StevieD are moderates. AR182, I can see as a moderate, and possibly djv (even though he is often lambasted as a snivelling commie).

SixFive- As I've mentioned previously, I'm actually a registered Republican. But since Bush II and his regime has taken office, I can't find myself supporting basically any of his actions. Much like there are fanatical Muslims, I would consider his administration fanatical Republican and I'm not for it. Religous crusades, erosion of personal freedoms, more government instead of less governement, etc,...that's not Republican ideology. Sorry if my not agreeing with his policies makes me or anyone else who doesn't a liberal. At this point in time, I consider that a much nicer 'insult' that if I were to be pegged a conservative along the lines of Bush and Dr. Freeze.

I still don't ever understand your religious crusades ideas that u always post about or erosion of freedoms. I do agree there is seemingly more and more government, and I hate that too. Not agreeing with him doesn't make u a liberal, your ideology does. Voting for Nader is a wasted vote, and if u are a republican, u certainly can't vote for the most liberal candidate in recent history, John Kerry. What are you to do? Sit it out?

I'll throw a few issues out there, 65, and give a very brief description of my thoughts. Along with a 'c'or an 'L' for conservative or liberal. I'm running through these real fast, so if there are any I left out, let me know.

Most policies that favor businesses, big and small. (for-c)

Privatizing social security-(for-c)

Pro-Life (L)

Environmental issues-drilling etc (c)

Animal rights (c)

Some sort of controls on non-hunting assault weapons and hanguns. (L)

The idea that the Government stays out of my life. (c)

Separation of church and state, per the constitution. (L)

The idea that certain government programs are necessary to help out the less fortunate and willing to accept that some will abuse the system. (L)

The ACLU. (c)

Death Penalty-(for-c)

Affirmative action. (L)

Gay rights. (L)

I'm running out in a few minutes, so I don't have more time to think about other issues, but here are 13. 7 where I lean towards the right and 6 where I lean towards the left. If you can think of any other issues that are traditionally political, let me know.

Your opinion is skewed because almost all of my political posts here revolve around this invasion of Iraq and this admin in general, so it seems like i'm ultra-left. The fact is that i'm ultra anti this war and ultra anti Cheney, Ashcroft, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz and Perle.

Sudan is rich in oil, a long running civil war is going on and the civilians are caught in the middle.

both sides have killed thousands of civilians. there are peace talks off and on, that is the best hope, there might be soon 3 sides fighting instead of two. A mess, still a chance for peace through diplomatic efforts is probably the best option at present.

Afganistan needs more US and allied soldiers sent as more and more of the country is back in the hands of the regional warlords. also before it is over more troops will need to be sent to Iraq.

to secure Sudan would probably take twice the amount of soldiers (money) as Iraq and Afganistan, not sure if the resources are there.

thanks
