Since this is on my mind after visiting here today, please post your views on this. Maybe I'm not understanding some of you moderates, and I'm unfairly keyholing u as a liberal. I'm willing to learn/change my thinking on what these terms mean. Are there different variations of moderates? Maybe we need more than 3 groups to choose from. Thanks.

Moderate to me is not to be so extreme. And willing to compromise for results that help more. True Libs and Conservs I dont think like to compromise. It's just to pain full to do it.

A liberal is someone who thinks he is politically correct.

Some Liberals fabricate because thy can?t justify their programs by facts so they have to make it up.

Liberals function by feeling and emotion. No logical thinking. Liberals have good intentions but their intentions screw up because the world does not function the way they believe it does.

For example, liberals don?t think people take advantage of the well fare program. That is bogus thinking. It has been proven that people take advantage of the well far program. Then liberals respond by saying ?what about the children??

Liberals want big government and they trust government to always do the best thing. The truth is that government mostly makes the wrong decisions. Liberals refuse to believe that.

Liberals don?t believe in evil and that evil does not exist. Liberals say everybody has a good side and are able to be rehabilitated. It is obvious some people are evil and they need to be exterminated. Liberals don?t think so.

I can go on and on, but this should give you a good idea what a liberal is and why not to be one.

Close, but liberals don't have good intentions. I used to believe that myself.
Liberals USE good intentions in order to gain control over the populace and to fool the needy. And I could say it's just the leaders, but I've seen that all do it. From political correctness to save the earth, if it can be used to sway people to join their cause, they will promote the hell out of it.

I think most libs and cons fit in catagory of moderates.
The extremes from both sides are the prob. However I believe the extremes on the right are contradictory of the rest of conservatives whereas the the left are more closely alligned with liberals in general just more extreme.
Case in point --the extreme right is lawless and hide in secret- to promote their agendas-the far left is very vocal and use extreme bending of laws to meet their agendas.
The far right will never succeed as their #'s are small and they have as many conservatives against them as liberals--on the the other hand the far left is far more dangerous as they have vocal leadership in the ACLU and the likes promoting their agendas.
Just my opinion for what its worth.

You know, I was watching a Chris Rock special, and he was talking about this. And he pretty much said it's difficult to be completely lib or con. I would say 90% of the people in this country are liberal on some issues, and conservative on others. Obviously, if you are in majority agreement on one side's ideas, you would probably identify yourself with one party or another.

The fundamental difference between liberals and conservatives is: Conservatives believe man was created in God's image; liberals believe they ARE God. All their other behavioral tics proceed form this one irreducible minimum. Liberals believe they can murder the unborn because they are gods. They try to forcibly create "equality: through affirmative action and wealth redistribution because they are gods. They can lie, with no higher power to constrain them, because they are gods. They adore pornography and the mechanization of sex because man is just an animal, and they are gods. They revere the U.N. and not the U.S. because they aren't Americans - they are gods.

So in summary (from this thread):

Liberals:

  • Lie
  • Can't think
  • Don't have good intentions
  • Fool the needy
  • Believe they are God

Well bobbie has just about summed up this thread on to football:D

A conservative is someone who is trying to protect something he was against ten years before.

That's a good one, and very true! :D

What is the saying? Something like: If you're young and not a liberal you have no heart, and if you're old and not conservative you have no brain.

That has to be the dumbest explanation of liberals I have ever heard. I don't watch her as I have mentioned before I get news for the most part off the internet nor have I read her but my God, people actually buy into this crap? I don't think I am a God so guess that disqualifies me, lol.

From the Left you will hear "I feel." From the Right you will hear "I think." From the Liberals you will hear references to groups --The Blacks, The Poor, The Rich, The Disadvantaged, The Less Fortunate. From the Right you will hear references to individuals. On the Left you hear talk of group rights; on the Right, individual rights.

That about sums it up, really: Liberals feel. Liberals care. They are pack animals whose identity is tied up in group dynamics. Conservatives and Libertarians think -- and, setting aside the theocracy crowd, their identity is centered on the individual.

Liberals feel that their favored groups, have enforceable rights to the property and services of productive individuals. Conservatives (and Libertarians, myself among them I might add) think that individuals have the right to protect their lives and their property from the plunder of the masses.
