Started this topic in hopes that someone or many someones can contribute information on any changes of playing surfaces we can expect for the upcoming NFL season. Or stadiums?
Stadium / Turf Changes for 2004?

Paul Brown Stadium and the Metrodome are gonna feature FieldTurf for this upcoming season.
In the colleges - Boston College, Rutgers, and Central Michigan have installed FieldTurf for '04.

Now I thought the Ravens played on FieldTurf last year but then I get this unsolicited football annual in the mail yesterday and it says Baltimore played on natural surface at home last year. WTF? Do some consider FieldTurf as a natural surface then?
I gotta know...I got systems that depend on whether the surface is natural or artificial. Maybe FieldTurf is closer to natural than artificial - I mean I hear it is good stuff and the players like it.

Ravens have Movement Turf System installed, like the one Cal has.
One addition in the colleges: Utah State for this season - though I don't know what turf brand was installed.

Sorry, it's similar to FieldTurf, which is to say that it's part of the new wave in artificial surfaces. A polymer blend with in-fill of rubber, and in some brands, sand. Looks like the real stuff.

So Ravens played on artificial last year as did Jets and Giants. Bears returned to natural and Philly went to natural last year. The only change this year apparently is Cincy going back to artificial after several years on natural.

Incidentally, thsi same source (okay i'll tell you ... its feist) has the Bears as having played on artificial at soldier field from 1994-2001. I know they were on arty in '02 cuz they play at the univ illinois stadium. Somehow this source got last year right with Bears on natural. I believe that I am correct in saying that old Soldier Field was a grass stadium though. Anyone able to confirm?
